A lot of these vertical dramas have a very promising set-up but not enough time to flesh it out properly. I think this could've been really great had they had more time to develop the relationship between the FL and ML, since the ML was kinda just around. Nevertheless still really fun, I just like Chang Dan Dan as the FL in general a lot!
With 40 episodes they should've used the time they had to develop the story properly, instead of wasting ~20 episodes on pure frustration. Two wonderful actors that had great chemistry, fun side characters (especially the night walkers and the sister, despite one key plot point that left a bad taste in my mouth) and a promising inital set-up. No matter how much people keep raving about how anyone that doesn't like it "missed the point of the show", pretty people, pretty customes and the supposedly "complex and satirical message" can't carry a story alone. It's a writers job to set the tone after all. The ending was also quite predictable, it's called "a dream within a dream" after all.
A bit more of a serious role for Sun Qian Xun, but she's as amazing as always! Love how flirty (both) the leads are with each other (especially the FL)
This does something slightly different with the multiple transmigrations, I have to give them probs for that! The chemistry between the leads was great as well, tho I expect nothing less from Wang Yun Yun tbh

I personally love this one for several different reasons: 1. Older woman as the lead 2. Good relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law (which seems to be rare in cdramas) 3. The focus isn't romance 4. How supportive the lead is of her daughter-in-law, to make up for her past mistreatment, and her distate for her son for "abandoning" his wife
Despite the plot being really convoluted towards the end, this is still one of my favorites for the above reasons
Ngl this actor is incredible. Not even many "full-length" drama actors can deliver this kind of performance. He derserves bigger projects.
That said, this is a very sad drama. Poor FL, I feel incredibly bad for her. The ML had it coming. It's not a "fun" watch in that sense, but it's very creative and probs to the team behind this idea. It's still getting a higher rating for me, simply bc the performance of the ML was just that good.

"opressive reality" lol
Nitpicking a South Korean show over that, when Christians are the largest religious group in South Korea is quite ironic. You're not being opressed bc of this.

Good for you then. Still doesn't change the fact that you're being overly sensititve over something that isn't an issue in this show. Whether they set a church with a cross or a mosque on fire, it has nothing to do with the religion itself but what that place represents for the victim(s) and the irony that believing in any god suddently absolves you of your horrific actions without consequences. Let's be realistic here, it's not a deliberate burning of "a cross" to offend Christians and there is no Christianophic agenda.

Might have something to do with the fact that Christianity is the largest religion in South Korea, unlike Islam.
It's only not correct to you bc you believe in that religion. Your faith doesn't dictate other people's work and art. And other people not following the teachings of your religion is not an attack against your religion.
