Moving forward, I have decided that I will be quite harsh on any show that chooses to blaspheme the things of…
Christian churches are some of the richest companies in the world, yet its followers are the most entitled and senstive bunch of people I've ever met. Christianophobia? Don't make me laugh lmao
for real why did he get an honoured funeral, had that female detective just did her job and turned him in together…
Turning Jongsuk in wouln't have changed anything and wouldn't have made Kyungmin live. He was determined to die with Jongsuk after giving him several chances to confess (and without his wife he had no reason to live). That was his final plan from the beginning and his revenge on Jongsuk for betraying Cheolie and living like nothing happened. Jongsuk wanted to make Cheolie a hero/god so he could save himself by any means and live (even willing to kill Kyungmin just to hide everything), so Kyungmin finished what Cheolie couldn't do (a "real curse" by killing himself) by ending their lives at the same place everything started. Tho I do think Jongsuk chose to let go as well in the end.
The ending of episode 5 is so well done. It's devastating, dark and tragic, yet so cinematic and well done! Plus…
It's also impressive that this show managed to make me feel pity for a psychopathic serial killer (well towards the end he wasn't the really the same person anymore). Jaehoon (and Yohan as well) never stood a chance to grow up normally. Two children's lives (any many more victim's) were destroyed, just so some people could prove a point.
I do think Jung Bareum got the most graceful ending they could've given him, despite his pre-brain-sugery-self deserving a much worse punishment. Go Muchi's scene at JBR's grave also ties in well with Jaehoon's prayer and JBR's death at the church. Did the Almighty do this to save or to punish Jaehoon/JBR? After all, he's no longer the emotionless monster and his child-self finally cries while they hug.
However I'm not a fan of the switched-at-birth-route the writers chose to go with. It would've been a stronger message if Sung Yohan actually was the Headhunter's biological son. Then the whole nature vs. nuture message would've been more concise. But now the messaging falls kind of flat, because they chose to play into people's already existing preconceptions.

Straight up love how the FL prioritizes her safety and power over anything (including love) haha (tho the ending felt like it was setting up for a part 2)
Kudos to the actor who plays the copycat wannabe guy with glasses. He was great and really rose to the FL’s…
I agree about the directing and editing. I felt it was bit weak in the first episode, but the 2nd episode picked up significantly. (Tho there was one part in the confrontation between Jung I Sin and Seo Gu Wan that felt kinda sitcom-y with the shaky hand-held camera and zoom ins. Kinda ruined the immersion for me, but luckily that was only a few seconds)
I shouldn't have started this show before all the episodes were released. The first two were really good, I can't wait to see how it continues!
Also Go Hyun Jung is definitely the hightlight of this show. I know it's only been 2 episodes right now, but she's killing it in this role. Jung I Sin is such an intriguing character. She gives me the creeps, but at the same time we're shown glaces of her "caring" about her son (like her reaction to the gunshot, it seemed like she was scared that it might've been Cha Su Yeol that got shot, or trying to kill/silence the guy that knew too much about Cha Su Yeol). It doesn't feel like an act bc those reactions were when nobody was watching her, so I do believe she "cares" about her own kind, in a not-healthy way
I love shows where both leads are transmigrated (tho here it wasn't really relevant in the ML's case, just a few hints throughout the show that he's also from modern times, plus the end obviously)

While I didn't watch Exclusive Fairytale I think it's cute that the second leads from there are the leads here
But at this point LCM has embodied this role so well, I can't imagine anyone else but him playing this character
