I’m wondering if a part of the intimacy in OnO and what makes it great is/1. Bai Lu and Ren had already shot…
Could very well be! Maybe they were already comfortable with each other as friends.
I was wondering if it was the same director! I hadn't checked, but good to know. I was thinking if it were the same, he clearly changed his style. The tone is so diff in both.
I just preferred that in O&O, they said so much with just their eyes, mind you she played a mute for a few episodes, so to be able to convey emotion without speaking let alone touching, was brilliant. Like who knew grazing someone's nose could make you feel excited. LOL and here we are saying they haven't been kissing.
So true! Like they make him become awkward after he and ShiYi already have intimate relationship. Or have him…
Lazy! Yes! That's the right way to describe it. I couldn't believe it myself. The awkwardness is already getting a bit old for me. I get that it's his character trait, and he's aloof and shy and all that.. but let's move past that now. lol You've consummated twice.
Woah. Can I just say I'm more impressed that most of you watched all the way to episode 22. LOL Did you even sleep?! 👏🏻
I'm glad after reading some of the comments, there seems to be some improvement with our ML. But gosh, these comments are definitely heating up. Though I must say, personally, I had no issues with the lack of skinship and lack of kisses. Yes, I agree, there has to be some level of intimacy in a romance drama. BUT I think the choice of words and body language says a lot too. To criticise the actor and his personal clauses is one thing, but the show is a collaborative effort, you can't just say it's a terrible show because of him. If I had to critic anyone it would be the producers, director and even scriptwriter. Granted, I haven't read the novel, so I don't know how different it is, but as a crew, given you knew you hired a ML with a clause, shouldn't the next questions you ask be, "How can we still make it interesting? and true to the novel?" "How do we challenge the art of filming?" "Can we change the script?".
I felt they could have done so much more with the script IMO. I found the choices for some of ZSC's words were cringey, I found myself wanting to skip some of these scenes—I don't think I'll ever get over episode 17 where he just says "I'm ready", I'm sorry, but that's such a put off even if I were ShiYi. At least play with his words and leave it to the viewers imagination or something. There's so much more to the art of storytelling, and I felt that's where they lacked. It just seemed like they were lazy.
I think I'm starting to prefer their relationship in O&O a lot more now that I'm seeing this. There was so much raw emotions there and if you loved O&O without any intimate scenes, then you most definitely can do it here too I reckon. I mean, I'm all for the crying. 🙋🏻♀️
they are really cute but im kinda mad at how shiyi is the only one carrying the relationship like at this point…
I’m starting to prefer O&O, despite not having any skinship in that, I was feeling more emotions and crying all the time. I rather watch something that makes me feel the way the characters felt. The whole shyness is getting old. Like I’m totally ok with the lack of kisses, I think you can still show someone you love them and say the right things. RJL’s lines are getting boring and it just makes him sound like he hasn’t grown as a character.
Why in the world are we on Episode 16 and when they return home he wants to sleep on the couch!!
I’m on episode 17 and I’m bugged that all he says is “I’m ready”. Jeeez. I’m getting over the awkwardness real quick. It’s about time they start acting like a married couple after that full course.
I’m sorry, you couldn’t get more awkward than “I’m ready”, how is that supposed to sound seductive? That was so cringey to watch. They could’ve make him say anything at all, but they went with that?! It makes it sound like she’s a machine or something.
That’s what I found funny. I knew most ppl would comment about the ending of episode 15 saying it wasn’t enough but they’d be pleased with the start of episode 16 😂
Don't drop or downvote it yet because of lack of kiss scenes or intimate scenes. It is Ren Jia Lun by the way,…
Im starting to think the same. Like, if you knew what he was like, why come in with the expectations? You watch it for the overall show and storyline—count the little wins and celebrate the small moments. Not count how many kiss scenes there are. I think it's starting to get a bit ridiculous. Maybe they've left it for our imagination or interpretation?

Yeah you’re right. I guess she knew what she was getting herself into.
