I like that she always chooses not toxic, cheerfull characters, also the content of her work has positive messages about women empowerment and social equality. Thumbs up!
The donghua also altered a lot from the original material
I read somewhere that also Mortals journey to immortality will get live action with Yang Yang taking main role? I liked that one mostly because of main character's personality and charisma, I wonder how that will go....
It was so funny, when I started watching, I went like: oh, I've already seen this... but then I realised, this…
LOL, I watched so many animations that I have some plots mixed up, some parts I have forgotten as I watched it quite some time ago, so, I won't know if anything is different... good for me, I think... But that starting scene when old man enters the city, that one I remembered well, ye, it leaves impression... The whole world setting of drama is obviously based on CGI and I have a feeling like watching animated series... untill it's visually good, I don't mind, actually... But I see another thingy coming; FL is played by one of those chinese actresses who's acting style I don't like too much, sooo, I might have a problem, Houston....
The Drama is good somhow but nfortunately, the donghua is much better; at least they should have kept the original…

I'm gonna go to this withouth any expectations and hope for it to be an entertaining drama... Only if one reads manhwa you can know which one follows original more, donghua or drama, that's why they won't be the same.
How long did they stay in the mines? And what is the stone for?
I watched quite some donghuas and in those stones are absorbed for their energy, to improve cultivation. It's probably the same in this case, too. If not, story will tell, I suppose.
It's not because you've been watching too many scary shows. Their first meeting is meant to be suspicious...that's…
I think in most of Europe such situation could be considered at least 50% less dangerous than elswere in the world. Here is what Google says: "Finland isn't just the happiest place in the world; it's also one of the safest countries to live or travel in. Comparatively, crime rates are low." I live in No.7 safest country in the world, so, I would be a bit cautious outside because of watching (too many...) american crime series not because I would ever experiance anything like that in real life. I haven't heard of any kidnaping cases in years, we got about one or two murders a year, so.. yeah... I myself gave tourist a ride and even an accommodation over night... and didn't kill anyone, haha...
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, because, to me, the ML is way more gorgeous. He's more masculine-looking…
I also started Hidden love and couldn' pass over few episodes... I find ML actor cute but about all the rest I agree with you... I don't know who dubbs Zhau Lusy but she could definitelly change it to some more grown up woman's voice, let it be hers or dubber's.
I'm back here rewatching after few years and I enjoy it even more then the first time. In between I watched a lot of all sorts of dramas and that is why I find this one even more preciuos now. It's diferent, is funny, it 's my cup of tea because I love such parodic take on history. This is one of few such dramas, other are The king is not easy, My uncanny destiny, Princess! You have Five Husbands!. When I need a good laugh I pick them up...
The fact that I was just on my way to comment this.. not only the costume but the male lead character also gives…
Actually, I think Dylan Wang and Ao Rui Peng have quite similar facial features... I like them both and think they are talented actors who can do a good job - so, let's hope the script and directing won't be a downfall because even the best actors can't save the drama that is ruined by writter or director...
It is sort of love story there but it's hard to describe... It's soft and subtle. If you like fantasy with heart, try it. For me it was special - pulled me in and left me with warm feeling.
To be honest, this is first drama in which I really liked Hwang Jung Eum's acting. In most of her other roles she is screaming, panicked, clumsy half crazy woman, who cashes in her embarasement so well that even I felt embarased for her only by watching it... I don't know why she picks such roles as the character she plays in this drama suits her much, much better. Imo. I hope she will get more roles like this to showcase her good acting instead of her "good" screaming. That being said, this drama is one really nice, talking to heart, one. I actually watched it soon after it aired but it's vibe is still with me after this time. I think may be I should rewatch and enjoy it again.
Exactly. This is (more probably than not) a publicity stunt carefully timed by the agency to promote their actor.…
On other hand I think every news about celebs dating are good news, no matter the background. Because this way those obsessed fans just get a reality check on fact, that celebrities are not objects and public property but breathing, living people who have every right to be in relationships...
Still remebering Dylan Wang getting lots of negative hype after acting in Miss the dragon? I started that drama and was shocked how paralysed he looked in there. And then some time later he exploded in Love between fairy and devil and then everybody was full of prize about his acting. What was the problem? The same actor and such a difference in level of his performance... ? I think we all forget that there are bad scipts, bad productions, bad editing and first of all - also bad directors. Even most talented actor can flop if director can't pull the best out of him and instead directs him in the wrong way. I think that our actress Yang Chao Yue is one of the cases that is caught in a bad directing. She's pretty and that is what directors ask of her: to be pretty... If she would play another role, where she would be asked to drop off her childish mask - I beleive she could show her true colors and shine. Obviously she is hardworking and tries to improve her skills, but if she is asked to play typical roles all the time and is not allowed to express more than pretty - can she show more if director doesn't ask or allow her to do so? I wish her to break the wall and become what and who she wants to be.
FL's character is all over the place, like writter couldn't decide will she be clever or stupid, strong or weak, does ML need her or not. Is she a child or grown up? The way she spoke and the voice - ye, it didn't help at all, I disliked it more and more until I decided to drop it as also misteries themself didn't pull me in..
The whole world setting of drama is obviously based on CGI and I have a feeling like watching animated series... untill it's visually good, I don't mind, actually...
