Remember she was once a spoilt rich girl in luxurious dresses & sports car, now because of unfortunate series of events have reduced her from proud to humbled, living within means making do with everything, eg. buns from convenience store & riding an old motorbike, our get up & go girl, her ability to bounce back/make a comeback from grief & series of misfortunes & an attempt on her own life initially. She's special & that's how XS fell in love with her. Good moral story 😊😊

Even before XS met JH, he'd already set his sights on TengYue, attempted to acquire it as he sees $potential in near future as M&A analyst/manager. (I'm sure most of us have some kind of portfolio investment via companies eg. Vanguard, etc. incl. investment option in a Superfund, they're the ones who're maximising our returns). XS is only human, he did not realise his personal interest could conflict & compromise his decision/actions as a M&A. as he can't help falling deeper & deeper in love each day with JH, her "qualities" as he's equally ambitious. If I'm not mistaken he was offered a Partner of Baoxing or is it Aneda, (skipped atm 😂😂😂) if acquisition becomes successful. He'd hoped JH could be convinced the option of takeover benefits (he doubted it but has to go through with it as it's his job, hopeful for win/win), some benefits incl. $ to expand Tengyue. Aneda is an established footwear company with funds to speed up Tengyue's growth. with conditions (he's even thoughtful for the sakes of JH) to keep JH as Marketing/Managing Director & the rest of Tengyue's employees. It's a rare opportunity for XS, to become a Partner of the firm, 16 hrs to go, I'm just hopeful for a happy ending.

Wholly agree, we can't blame JH for choosing TengYue over him & he should understand. TengYue is founded by Dad & she has painstakingly revived it, because it's a reminder of Dad & last of Dad's, in a way "giving back Dad's some dignity after bankruptcy", & most of all it's like bloodline to her.

As for ambitious XS, he has proven to us that he loves her so much that he could even sacrifice his career (assumed, from ep 40 trailer/previews), a man's evidenced of ultimate success, life goal, attained self-actualization. XS has made up his mind, chosen JH over career (he was offered Baoxing Investment Partner if/once acquisiton is completed successfully). Poor XS, career means a lot especially to a man. That's how we girls would like how drama pans out right, the man should love the woman more lol 😂😂😂 Morever, XS has had a girlfriend during school days & we won't want to see XS another one of his many dispensable girlfriends, so producer wants JH to be XS's one & only love & ta da .... happy ending 😂😂😂
