XH genuinely loves LCC, remember, he gave her his rare Frost Reed, saved her repeatedly, shouldering burdens alone, shielding her from the unbearable truth & pain that her father is the evil corrupt mastermind, also knowingly she wouldn't believe him anyway. It's heartbreaking that he never gets the chance to be together with his beloved empress & sees his son 😭😭 To me, it's a emotionally powerful masterpiece; XH's true love that is deeply moving & the ache of "unrealized love" till it's too late on LCC's part, and an emperor who'd fought tirelessly for justice, exposing corruption, sacrificing their future together for duty. Again, I was thinking, why didn't the scriptwriters just give them a happy ending *sigh*. Ending's as sad as their One & Only One & Goodbye My Princess 😭😭

Overall, it's enjoyable. FL is pretty all right, however sometimes I can't stand those excessive cheap looking heavy trinkets on her hair plus those 2 red dots on the sides of her mouth (wedding) which made her appeared as if she'd just been performing at the circus. She'd look lovelier with simple hairdo & fewer hair accessories.

FL was infatuated with ML for 4 yrs, & one day summed up courage to confess to him, however rejected. Bitter, she tried to play cool (also waried that ML may be playing with her feelings) when ML tried to pursue her after he realized he's fallen for her.

Yeah, I happened to like Huang Riying + Miles Wei & nothing to watch on Friday after work, discovered this drama I'd missed. I watched from my 27" monitor/screen, & there're not many comments, so it's not hard to scroll down, also I quite like Zhang Yuxi 😂😂

I've enjoyed the drama with some business storyline in it, just like Rising With The Wind, my favourite. Peony reminded me of Leggos, Yeo's or Ayam on a smaller scale, how ML's single Mom founded it, grown into a national icon. I liked that ML-FL romance developed early & ML's love for FL never wavered when childhood "girlfriend" returned from abroad to join the company as some Planning Director. I liked Cao Ya too, as she's not bitchy but loyal & all peace despite ML & her had dated previously. Xulu, you'll look prettier with a tad less makeup. I've skipped much because of time constraints but will be re-watching 🥰🥰

Yes. I read the writer was aware that she'd disappointed many fans by writing this novel a SE, her reason was she wanted to set Helian Xi & Fengyuan free. Not understanding why she chose SE, as they could be free without that monster Feng Yin. She could have thought of some other ways to get rid of Feng Yin for good, & they'll all live happily ever after. Even that lovestruck Shuoyun Prince Xiu Jiu has found his new love, doctor cousin of the love he can never have. Writer knew well that fans will be looking forward to another pairing Zhao Yiqin & Shen Yujie to make up for the SE, just like what you said 2 projects, 1 ends in tragedy & the other in bliss 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

We hope to see Helian Xi & Feng Yuan reborn/reincarnated to the Modern World with HE just like Stand By Me (SE) & South Wind Knows (HE) and One & Only (BE/SE) & Forever & Ever (HE). Where did you watch the ending? It started so good, enjoyed the chemistry both ML & FL, & up till now I'm still mesmerized, oh please, hope you're wrong. Why do they have to die?? If they die, what about Linchuan revival? It's not fair that Yongzhao survived while Linchuan was perished, doomed since the day he set eyes & fell hard for her😢😢

Both 1ML & 2ML love 1FL. It's good to see 2ML assisting in the investigation of Yongzhao coup & Linchuan wipeout. @ep 10 Helian Xi came to know little by little into the scheme of things of how his clan was perished, how Fengyuan was stabbed with poison resulting in a damaged lung & heart. It's seems the mastermind was the vicious, power hungry brother Fengyin who'd murdered his own King father & trying to make use of his sister to obtain the heart of the Linchuan Divine Tree :)
