My my my, didn't expect how young she is but strange how she isn't that free-minded for her age? I would've understood a bit if her perception on gatekeeping jdramas is from someone older. I wonder if she's allergic to foreign audience reactions/criticisms or what she said was as a result of the usual orientalism. Anyhow, I wish her views will still change in time. Haven't watched silent yet though. lol

Love it! It's like Boyhood but make it about a family trying to make ends meet in a somewhat remote area like Goto. I'm impressed how the whole family was open to sharing their story. Hope everyone in the family is living their life the way they wanted now.

I think everyone already stated what I wanted to say about this drama. It's a 9.5/10 for me. Having watched a lot of dramas for a long time, I love Conpaji's refreshing screenwriting style, the script, and the acting. One of the best slice of life out there. If you're tired of the usual dramas on Netflix, hope you can give this one a chance. To some, it could pass as preachy but to me it's just so relatable and raw. Reminds me of how my friends and I talk about our life, careers, and stuff. It's storytelling is just so awesome.

Simple plot. Not as slow burn as I expected. It's an "okay" movie for me (7/10) but don't be discouraged of watching it (just like how some people are trying to insist). I've watched one Nakagawa movie prior to this and I can say that he's quite consistent in beautifully capturing nature - especially the sounds and landscapes.

Good soft acting for Yukino and Minami. With Yukino as the main character, she surely delivered. I love that scene where she and Minami are staring each other and almost kissed. Her tearful expression at Sumire ~ I felt that. Also love that small talk she had by the shore with one of the young locals in the area where Sumire died. It just felt normal and real. Nakagawa's movies tend to value silence (non-verbal communication) and let nature speak for itself. Less talk, more surroundings. That's what I appreciate about his work. Not everything has to be loud and so many things going on. Sometimes, simple is good enough. But I have to say, although I love the combination of realism and animation, the animation itself is confusing to me and it's concocted in a sort of childish way. I felt like I'm not sure if I understood it correctly lol. Also that scene where Sumire is having a heated conversation with her mom ~ I felt like what the director wished to express in that lacks the impact that I'm looking for somehow.

Minami's acting here is okay but she performed way better than I expected. I hope she'll try to challenge herself more in films like this.

I love it as much as the first season. This is really my kind of Jdrama. Abe is so natural being Kuwano. Every character is just so interesting. Great cast and writing. If you're looking for something light and enjoyable, this drama is for you.

I like Haru and I thought she was a fine actress after watching "Kiyoku Yawaku" but I remember after seeing this drama, I was a bit disappointed with her comedic acting. Somehow, it felt forced. I think her acting stands out more on human drama works. As for Ryo, he's super duper handsome in here but I think his acting was just okay. Anyway, I decided to drop this because I'm not a fan of the writing and the plot of this drama. It has a simple yet catchy premise but the story's development and the lines were such a letdown. I also hated the fact that Kuroki is such a pushover. I mean, she's that typical FL character who's too submissive and lacking confidence. I'm done with such tropey roles.

Any idea where can I find the manga online ? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Originally, it's based on a novel but seems like they adapted it into manga last year (not sure). I only saw some raws though, no English translations: bit.ly/3oc5dGX

The first episode is pretty good. The musical scoring is on point. The pacing is just right. And it has that subtle comedy and cuteness that could easily draw you in. I could say that the people behind this drama did a great work with the casting and in recreating the manga. It has a good balance of everything.

I don't really know what to feel about the first episode. The musical scoring is kind of bothering with its bad timings and irrelevance to the scenes. Something's off with the sequencing of the story too. I hope it'll improve in the succeeding episodes. It has a good concept but a bit lacking in the execution.

I understand that it isn't the movie's highlight but for me, Suda and Minami are kind of lacking chemistry to think that Kai said he loves Kyoko. Or perhaps the distance between them was what the director intends for them? Can't really say. But anyway, for a historical film, it was interesting and didn't bore me. I've always liked Suda's confidence when he's acting but his character here reminds me of his character from Princess Jellyfish. Overall, I enjoyed it. It was better than what I expected.

I haven't completed this drama but I'm really enjoying it so far. If you're looking for a cute, feel-good, light romance drama, I would recommend this one! I also love the fact how educational this is, especially for people with disabilities. This is something I would want to be broadcast in our local television since it's not only soothing, but I think it has the power to educate people wrt to understanding more about our society.

As most people say, it does have the N no Tameni vibes. Its plot is interesting and the story has a great promise but somehow, I think it was poorly executed. Maybe I was just expecting a little more since they're the same prod behind Kikazaru Koi. In the end, the editing and sound effects really bother me so I dropped it.

One of the best things I've watched this 2021! It really resonated with me as someone who grew up in the 90s. The movie was able to capture the changing times and most especially, how things flash back on your memory wrt someone you used to love. I can't recommend enough the kind of storytelling this film has. I love it.
