Not really. Don't misunderstand. I love LXY. Yes, his character is complex in the novel, but the drama didn't explore too much about his past and his ultimate reason to be evil like that. They just showed the glimpse past about his childhood. I think the drama needs more episodes to make ppl understand the complexity of LZS character. With only 40 episodes, the production team is more focusing about Gu Jiu Si's character development and it's beautifully done.
