Title True to Love
This would be pretty close to a perfect romcom except Yoo In Na's face ruins it. She's had so much work and/or botox that her face is paralyzed. It's too bad because she's actually a good actress and really pretty, but it's so noticeable that it's constantly distracting me.

Im watching ep 1. Her husband is trash. Ik the serie is probably gonna make him fall in love with her again and…
I'm in ep 4 and he's still trash. Someone has literally said to the FL's face, "When are you divorcing him?" cause they just assumed that's what will happen. But she's starting to get back at him now and it's amazing already.

The leads are good-looking and they have chemistry. The writing isn't bad but I'm two episodes in and I feel like…
No, none of the same crew. It's just that Check Out is notoriously bad. In fact this drama has the KP director. There's nothing wrong with the production per se.

I'll give you the spoiler for episode 1. Two guys are best friends from childhood until the day of uni graduation. They are roommates at this point. One friend disappears with no goodbye, only leaving an ambiguous post-it note indicating he's leaving the country. Ten years later (yes, 10), the guy who was left behind is still broken-hearted and apparently has never dated. He must be in his early 30's at this point. He soothes his soul by writing emails to his friend's old email account but has never once received a reply. Mix in a some annoying friends and co-workers, miscommunication for days, ridiculous coincidences, unfunny comedic elements, unexplained backstories, and we arrive at the friend who left moving in across the hall from the friend who stayed. They meet each other in the hall and that's the end of the episode.

I've watched episode 2 and the "miscommunication for days" is just as bad. I think the whole plot is going to revolve around a 5-minute conversation that everyone will avoid having for most of the series. I hope I'm wrong. But to me it's a trope and bad writing. I like the leads and their chemistry and I hope that saves this drama.

How good it is that you can make me watch this? Is the storyline unique and interesting? Is the chemistry good?
The leads are good-looking and they have chemistry. The writing isn't bad but I'm two episodes in and I feel like the writers are torturing me with tropes. It's not as bad as Check Out. I'd say watch the first couple of episodes and see if it's to your taste.

50 episodes, for real? 😥 I dislike the 16 episode formula already, that's too many for most Korean dramas.…
You should look up the meaning of makjang dramas. Most weekend dramas (50 episodes) or daily dramas (120 episodes) are some form of makjang. They're not to everyone's taste.

I think people who are used to jdramas will really like this. It's slow-paced and the characters are quite constrained at times Also, it's from 2014, and BLs were different back then. They were about gay people in the real world dealing with the crushing weight of societal expectations. Not the fluffy, happy kinds of BLs we get now. It was rare to get any kind of happy ending.

Shima has so much baggage from the way he's been treated in the past that he's almost totally shut down. This movie is largely about how Togawa starts to heal him. The story is incomplete because they've obviously only taken the first steps in their relationship but it's a happy ending nevertheless.

I really enjoyed it and will probably watch it again. I think anyone who's been hurt in a previous relationship and struggles to open their heart again will understand these characters.

Only one episode left, I don't have much hope in it.I thought we'd have a nice ending like Bravo My Life, but…
Did you see Young Lady and Gentleman? The happy ending arrived in the last 5 minutes of the 50th episode. They were almost rolling the credits over the wedding scene.

Nothing surprises me anymore with these makjang plots. 😂😂

I hope we have two episodes tomorrow. I would hate for them to drag this series ending out to Monday.
Honestly I think we're only getting one more and that's tomorrow. When they cancelled an episode recently for an awards show, the total episode count went down by one.

As bad as the MIL is, the rest of the family just lets her get away with it. So none of them are much better. They all let YY do more than her share of housework and helping in the restaurant for YEARS whilst raising a child alone. None of them stand up for YY when the MIL says toxic, humiliating lies to YY's face, just because the MIL has feelings.

What happened????
Just so you know YY didn't accept KJ breaking up with her. She told him to stay and keep his promises. I'm hoping she and MRN will go to the US with KJ and the MIL will never see any of them again. She's just the worst. Talking about how she couldn't send "her" child to the enemy's family. As if YY was nothing.

If all this stuff about KJ being a high-risk patient, it's just to give the nice part to YH who "sacrifices" herself…
If he's allergic to one specific kind of anesthetic, there are other options they can use. They can also do allergy tests beforehand. The whole idea that he's high risk seems contrived. What hospital would roll the dice this way? "Let's give you something we know you're allergic to and hope you live! Whee!" smh

Am I the only one that thought the nurse underreacted to the fact, that the hospital had lost a terminal ill pasient,…
No! That was outrageous. The level of disinterest was amazing. Is it because there's more responsibility on the family to care for patients or just bad writing?

Also, KJ had an allergic reaction to anesthetic last time. Instead of giving him something different this time, the just gave him the same thing and hoped that his allergy had fixed itself. That's not how allergies work. Also, that can be tested beforehand and wasn't.

This hospital has so much malpractice going on, how are they still open?

They better not take KJ’s eyesight. I will be angry even though it’s just a script with actors I’ll still…
From watching the previews, it seems like that isn't happening.

I wonder why the writers made YI cry and blame herself for her daughter's leukemia. "I should have been a better…
She's just internalizing the hate from her MiL. I mean she literally told Young Yi that it was her fault that Do Jin died whilst multiple self-confessed murderers are sitting in jail. She's insane. It's beyond cruel to tell someone they're to blame for their child's leukemia. But Young Yi has been hearing this stuff from her MiL for years, and she's overwhelmed with the situation. I don't blame her not acting 100% rationally right now.

Even in the delulu land of daily dramas, what grandmother is more concerned with Yeong Yi and Kyeong Jun than with their own granddaughter's health? Yelling at everyone in front of Mi Ri Nae at the hospital? It's just such bad writing. It would have been easy to show her being touched by KJ's actions, but no.
