Just finsihed Ep 6. The show is a bit intense and complicated as to the cases they are working on.
Some things thet don't work. The uncle accessing thier office when there was no one there. It would have been locked. In the US, the uncle would not even get past the front desk without an escort. All of the civilian folks seem to walk the halls and enter offices at will. Except the guy who wanted to confess (for a crime he obviously did ot commit).
In the US, these two would not have done a stakeout without police backup. And every investegator carries a gun. The woman would have been dead the first time she charged the prosecutor. It would be ruled a justied homicide.
If you display a weapon in front of a cop and do not proceed with commands, to drop such weapon, they are justified is using lethal force to protect all involved.
I think they were perfect, but yeah. Gemini and Fourth are only 22! putting Fourth in a sweater and giving Kongdech…
My fantasy is that is what Gemini and Forth will look like when they are 47.
Some Thai actors keep they young looks for a long time. At 35 Tay looks 25. Earth Katsamonnat Namwirote is 29 and looks about 15. Gun could pass for 20.
Same same! I was raised Catholic and was in Catholic school in 1996. I am now agnostic/atheist as well. I went…
Actually, quite the opposite. GSA groups in school generally provided a safe space for gay and lesbian youth to gather. Sort of an AA mindset, get a bunch of straight girls to join the group along with a couple of boyfriends and create an atmosphere where outsiders could not tell the straights from the gays. -- Except for the flamboyant gay boys and girls.
They arrived at the cemetary gate just as Lek was locking it. She could have easily just let them in. She had no pressing business as she invited them to stay at her place.
The locations were very ambigoius.
St Madelenes (sp) was near Tanrak's old house as Cherry lived near by the school and his home.
Where were his parents buried?
They then went from said burial place to Bangkok. Had they gone from Bangkok to this place as a day trip?
Barth's house seemed to be in or near Bangkok as was the prision.
the hugging scene from the past that they showed i guess that was 10 years after he left, so that father said…
We never got closure on the refernce to not have been in a chuch in 20 years. One would have to assume it was some other special occasion. It should not have taken Kongdech 30 years to reach ordination. Heck, he should be looking at being made a Bishop or some other senior chuch leadership at 45/47 years old.
The 2026 church event cannot be his ordination to the priesthood as there was no bishop in the procession. Only a bishop can ordain a priest. Kongdech did have his stole crossing his body which is the way you identify a deacon (and if being ordained would have been appropriate when he was entering).
So we never get to the reason they did not come together and sat across from each other. That made no sense. Also an ordination should have had a crowded church, not most of the front empty.
The entire ep 6 felt like an ad for the Catholic Church, Tanrak’s gayness was still seen as a sin in the end.…
And for some reason Barth decided to convert?
In the first episode, Barth said he had not been in a church in 20 years.
Edit to add: Barth did not need to convert as he was technically still a Catholic, even though he was expressing views that he did not see himself as believing in God. Not sure he told anyone other than Tanrak. It was all part of his faith journey. Just because he had not been in a chuch in 20 years, doe not mean he did not believe in God, etc. We have no idea what they were doing in the 30 intervening years from school days to the 2026 church event. Quite frankly, I would be surprised if he had never stepped in a church as there could have been many reasons to, ie. weddings, funerals, etc.
I am curious, if anyone has faced this, or similar struggles, do you think this series helped or hindered BL acceptance..…
do you think this series helped or hindered BL acceptance.
I think TTH was a masterpices, but I don't think TTH is going to have much effect on BL acceptance. The Thai BL genre is at its peak. A show like this is not going to move the needle of BL.
Thai BL along with most of the Asian BL product really suffers from one thing. It is not produced in English. As much as we like to think Asian BLs are blowing the market away, I suspect shows like Heartstopper and Heated Rivarly have a far greater market reach, primarily becase they are in English.
Dubbing will not solve the problem. It needs to be authentic.
On a separate note, Thai BLs are written and produced for a specific type of audience. Females. Most of the other BLs around the world are produced and marketed for a differnt type of audience. Mostly gay men, I am sure I am going to get roasted for saying this, but it is a fact. Just look at the audnece of any concert in Thailand. It is all females.
I am and older man living in the USA and I have yet to get one of my gay friends to be interested in watching any of it. Some of them even think I am abnormal for enjoying it.
We learn their last names in this episode. Tanrak Sawatdirakkul & Barth Bodin Tungwongwat
P'Aof outdid himself with his easter egg cameo. I figured he would probably forgo it for this one, but he played it up big. (If I have to tell you what it is, you clearly were not watching.)
I could only have hoped to look as good as Barth and Tanrak do at 47. I am happy they did not have someone else play those roles.
Excellent attention to detail. Barth's car (Ford Capri XR2 convertible) was an affordable car during its time,…
The time he is driving in is 2026. He is at this point driving a classic car. Hopefully, not his daily driver.
I was annoyed that they showed him parking on the plaza where their were no other cars parked. I really don't think that would have really happened. It seemed a bit weird.

I think some groups were more activitist.

Edited to add Bodin to Barth's name.
