Title Queen Mantis
Does rating an episode have any bearing on overall rating here? If not the episode rating should be the only thing…
And those other ratings are the ones currently influencing visitors to this site to not bother watching it.

Opinion: MDL should turn off ratings until all episodes of a drama have been made available for viewing.

No way this is a 7.6
Maybe those giving it low ratings will perk up if Jang Dong-yoon has some kissing scenes in later eps.

Some people on here are salty. They don’t allow the drama marinate before they judge xD
For that reason, I've begun to only rate the dramas that I've watched from start to finish and that IMO deserve a 10.

Ha! I wonder if they realize that, as a result, their opinions are useless.

But I think that even the earlier k-dramas proved that Korean culture was extremely attractive to many viewers beyond Korea and even beyond Asia. For many Americans like me, it was just about being able to SEE Korean films and dramas. And thanks to even the earliest years of Hallyu now we can. And although the financial funding offered by Western streaming companies like Netflix has influenced some Korean production companies, I think the Korean creative teams have still managed to make even their Netflix sponsored dramas way more Korean than American. It's just that once American viewers were able to see them, it turned out that we really, really like Korean content! I hope Koreans will see that as a positive thing.

Thank you for the recommendation. It's on my list. Like many of the actresses who have entertained audiences for many years, she has a huge, loyal fan base. That's so good to see.

I didn't start watching k-dramas until about five years ago during the pandemic. K-dramas written for women by women and often directed by women were a revelation to me. And at that time, if I liked the performance of a particular actress, I'd go back and watch their earlier work. It happened with Kim Sun-ah, Jang Nara, Ha Ji-won, and Go Hyun-jung in particular. And I was often surprised to find that their earlier projects, unlike their more recent ones, although they had more episodes, were tightly written, single genre dramas, which I tend to prefer.

Just my opinion, but some of the best written and acted k-dramas are Noona Romances. For example: Something in the Rain, When the Camellia Blooms, I Hear Your Voice, Search: WWW, Witch's Romance, Baby-Faced Beauty, Scent of a Woman, and perhaps best, most honest, and most memorable of all: My Lovely Sam-soon.

The king is gonna die in the end. You may watch it carefully in the end of the intro.
That would be a very jarring ending given all of the humor.

How did this drama end up with a 7.3 rating? Viewers who dropped it after watching a few episodes because they weren't interested in the genre really should've refrained from giving it a poor rating. The writing and acting are incredible. The writer(s) really did their research. I'm sure the creators of the multi-award-winning American TV series, "Succession," which premiered in 2018, had no idea that a very similar SK series, "Empire of Gold," premiered in 2013. 10/10

Well, given the way things work in the Chinese (and S. Korean) entertainment industries, even a whiff of "scandal" can ruin not only an idol's career but also tank his/her current c- or k-drama. Netizens can cause celebrities a lot of aggravation by repeating lies anonymously on the internet.

Read my comment. I said he's PROBABLY no angel, meaning at 30 yrs. old, he's probably been in a few relationships that didn't last. Would you prefer it if he was a virgin?

I am sorry if I asked about this in the drama page. But i am really anxious right now. The things are going wild…
Looking more and more like she's a fraud/attention-seeker. Upon being faced with criminal charges, she's in the process of backtracking her claims. He's probably no angel (I mean, he's a guy), but neither he nor his current drama should be made to suffer over this. Enjoy the drama!
