I found the FL's character and acting a bit inconsistent. In some scenes she is shown as very mature and clever, then in some scenes she pouts and acts cute. The pivots are sudden and has a whiplash effect on me. Don't know what side of hers is true and what to believe in her case. But in this case, I do understand her. She knew more than anyone that her grandfather was remorseful till the end. In the latest episode, she finally comes clean to the ML that she did think about her clan first, but his clan will also have mutual benefits. She is trying to step on two stones at a time (a local saying where I'm from, means trying to ride in two boats at the same time.) Let's see how it goes but compromises are certain.

You're right. Probably this trauma was very emotional for the Wei and that's why it developed into hatred. And even though it was a logical decision for the Qiaos, breaking your word and not coming to the aid of your Ally when you've made promises to the said ally and that ally is fully expecting you to follow through, that is definitely dishonorable on Qiao's part. Additionally, because of the massacre that Li Su ordered probably wiped out generations of Wei. Hence, I think they can't approach this situation logically, hatred is involved. It's impressive that the grandmother is able to look beyond this hatred and hatch this marriage of convenience for the greater good (from spoilers of the novel, this will become a running theme of this story probably).

I agree with you. The plot was okay when it was about conquest, revenge and power. Now it has been reduced to household foibles with a sprinkling of plot. The pacing has slowed considerably. But the romance should make up for that.
