LYN looks majestic in the white outfit and the black cloak. My favourite of many beautiful outfits of his in the drama. Ep 10....was a trial. I didn't like the scene in the drama that everyone really liked in the novel (you know which one). The camera language and overall direction is so....uncommunicative and muddled in that scene. Aphrodisiac scenes are dime a dozen in cdramas and have been executed much better in some of the other dramas I've watched. At least it's over now huhu.
Also the mother in law character is so cute with chubby cheeks but such a convincing dumb malicious character, I enjoy it everytime she is on screen because I know she will get her karma instantly, instant gratification lol

Thank you for the recommendations. I have unfortunately not had a good luck with LLTG, picked it and dropped it many times before finally giving up at ep 15. I couldn't stand the FL and being told over and over that she is badly behaved with little to no proof of the same (classic case of telling rather than showing in storytelling)

I found the FL's character and acting a bit inconsistent. In some scenes she is shown as very mature and clever, then in some scenes she pouts and acts cute. The pivots are sudden and has a whiplash effect on me. Don't know what side of hers is true and what to believe in her case. But in this case, I do understand her. She knew more than anyone that her grandfather was remorseful till the end. In the latest episode, she finally comes clean to the ML that she did think about her clan first, but his clan will also have mutual benefits. She is trying to step on two stones at a time (a local saying where I'm from, means trying to ride in two boats at the same time.) Let's see how it goes but compromises are certain.

Additionally, because of the massacre that Li Su ordered probably wiped out generations of Wei. Hence, I think they can't approach this situation logically, hatred is involved. It's impressive that the grandmother is able to look beyond this hatred and hatch this marriage of convenience for the greater good (from spoilers of the novel, this will become a running theme of this story probably).

Can you recommend a similar drama which has everything you mentioned? I've seen couple of dramas which has everything you said along with a strong romantic subplot. Like Love in the Moonlight and 100 days my prince. Even Maids is an amazing drama which has all those things. These are all kdramas though

True. I enjoyed the plot of conquest, revenge and power. Now the plot surrounding the household quabbles has considerably brought down the pace. The romantic moments are cute though

I don't mind the lack of kiss scenes (of course it's better if they are there) as long as there's physical chemistry. Bridgerton season 2 has showed us that even touching and holding hands can be sexy if done right.
