I don't know how to feel about Liu Xin as a character. In the past timeline he is shown as a very selfish and corrupt character, even one who deliberately takes advantage of Rulan and in fact is judgmental towards her. He is not a righteous person and his reasons for taking revenge on Wu Lian are purely personal and selfish, nothing to do with seeking justice for Rulan or the other girls. I'm conflicted about him being the second most important character in the story.
Why? Guo Cheng is cute if he comes out with the humor it be even better π
I guess I still have a filter of his young boy role in CQL. I hope they come up with a good cp or even that she might be paired with a different actor. Although in the BTS scene I posted, it appears that these two are indeed the secondary couple.
I actually look forward to this drama, waiting to see HYX as killer.
I am also excite to see this different role from her. Her styling is also amazing in this one, no bangs makes her look quite alluring. I just hope she gets a good CP. Her CP in Sword and Fairy was soo good. I hope she gets a good actor s a couple in this one too.

Same, I was not really interested in this drama since it looks like million other xianxia dramas of chinese dramaland. But now I'm curious because of HYX.
I must say I like the costumes for this drama more than the director's other dramas. They're still his signature style but the colours and vibes are somehow better π

In fact many netizens in China said that the government was harsher with YBY because she tried to stand up to them and argue her case. The amount quoted in YBY's case is way less than SZE's case, from what I've gathered. But the govt came down very hard upon YBY since it goes against the Chinese policy of reflecting on your wrongdoing amd repenting or some such. This is what I'd found on weibo. So in a way it's a good thing SZE hasn't said anything. But people are speculating that she would've refuted the rumours if it weren't true, the fact that she has not means that there must be some truth in her allegations.

In YBY's case, the govt posted an official announcement about her sentence almost a year after her initial allegations. Same might be the case with SZE. Fans think that the fact that no official statement has come from her agency or even SZE herself, it's a silent indication of her culpability. She has become completely inactive since then, both online and offline. Hence it seems difficult that her projects will be aired. Oh well, I was really looking forward to this one.
Those are just rumours. I don't think SZE's dramas will also ever air. China is very strict about tax evasion and these cases are only filed after giving repeated notices. All other actors caught in tax evasion scandals have never been able to come back. I don't think SZE can either.

However, other actors and crew members should not suffer because of one person's mistake. This drama has a lot of investors and budget, I think, which is why they can afford to reshoot. YBY's other projects are not even that lucky. LXY's fans in China are calling HYX his saviour since because of her entry, they can at least get to see him as a ML in a big budget fantasy drama. Otherwise this drama would be permanently shelved like all other projects of YBY.
