Again I understand why she did what she did. Doesn't make it right though. Her mother softens herself to give her reasons as to why this marriage is a bad idea but she dismisses it just to challenge her mom. Just because I understand and empathize with her decision doesn't make it right, there's a difference. From a character/writing point of view, it makes sense but I will critique the character's decisions in the story same goes for her mom and all other characters

Can't believe people are agreeing with CSS's decision to ignore her mom just because her mom was the one that gave her the advice? I understand CSS's choice and why she did but she shouldn't make such a drastic decision to spite or go against Xiao Yuan Yi especially when it is advice given to protect you from tragedy in the future.

I understand her behavior that does not mean it was right. So if her mom told her someone is trying to trick or kill her would you have the same response as "The mother should feel guilty because it will make her get off her high horse and change how she treats her daughter! Then and only then will CSS give weight to her words." I don't think so. CSS was wrong, understandable but wrong.

I made this same point. Xiao Yuan Yi lowered herself to give her proper advice listing out reasons why her decision would end badly. Even if you and your mom don't get along and she has hurt you if she gives you advice that will protect you will you ignore it just to spite her and be stubborn? Even her dad couldn't believe it. I understand CSS's decision but she should be called out for her bad decisions even if we love her. Laugh now cry later. Great writing of the character though.

I understand why CSS did what she did, but her mother is literally giving her life-saving/changing advice but because she's so stubborn and spiteful towards her mom which again is understandable, she doesn't think of the negative effects this may have in the future. Just because we understand her choice to ignore mommy dearest doesn't mean the choice wasn't a bad one. She is her mother's daughter their both the same. Xiao Yuan Yi lowered herself for the first time to tell her daughter why this will only bring tragedy but was still ignored. CSS is naive when she does something foolish we should be big enough to admit such. Just because you hate the messenger doesn't mean you ignore the message.

Xiao Yuan Yi was just spitting facts today, and even when she takes the gentle approach to inform her daughter CSS was just so stubborn, but it's expected. CSS is the type that has to hit her head in order to learn.

I understand and agree somewhat. They are both too stubborn and proud I just want you to acknowledge when one is right and the other is wrong. Her mother is still responsible for the wedding as she is the one running the house. CSS decision was very surface level but she's young and can relate to that.
