No In Haβs attitude switched up so fast you could get whiplash. Iβm still waiting on the reason because itβs…
I believe he was twisted from a young age and has always hated his family. if you go back and check out ep 1, there is a scene where he is looking out of the window at Inju's party below in their farmhouse, and he is standing in the darkness, Actually ep 1-4 have a lot of signs...where his character gives weird eerie vibes, like the library scene when he's sitting by the window and Taeho-Hyewon have that conversation...he was always violent
unfortunately, I think Hyewon will choose to help Tae-oh instead of backstabbing him, I saw in the original trailer, a scene where they are sitting in the same row inside a court room in black clothes. If she goes attend a trial with him, she must support him or else why would the daughter-in-law of the family be seen with the man who allegedly killed the eldest son? Unless, there's another case or crime unrelated to this one happening later, and they're just there to watch lol They will show her doing things contrary to her "selfish" nature as Heeju suggested and shove this romance down our throats
I hate it how Taeoh's character is portrayed as someone disliked by everyone or being used, having no substantial…
I agree. I feel most viewers put too much trust and gave too much credit to the writer *sigh* I've come to the conclusion that this is a drama with a lot of sly, smart characters who love to do things that don't make sense
Injuβs assistant, played by kwon hyuk, that guy is giving psychopath vibes, inju never ordered him to attack…
THIS!!! I had the same thought! It's also him trying to tell Tae-oh that Inju is not his owner, maybe what Tae-oh said infuriated him, because it was sorta true with how Inju treated him, and he knew that and he wanted to end it all
the problem with this drama they don't feel like friends, enemies or anything. we don't feel nothing for these…
Exactly what I've felt watching this, the whole time jumping ruined the chances of coherent character development. They did not build a good base for these characters on the onset to make us understand/support or condemn their actions. The Past VS Present thing can only work if the audience is given at least the time to become familiar with the different aspects of a character, we've been fleeting through so many things, that I don't feel particularly negative or positive about any actions a character takes.
Even after four episodes, it's extremely hard to say, "Oh, this is very out of character for ______ to do, so it's absolutely not him/her", I cannot say what a character would or would not do, because we don't know enough about any one of them. I'm not sure if the writer was trying to establish thisβ getting mixed reactions from the viewer. But if they wanted to make sure all the main characters maintain ambiguity, perhaps they have have succeeded in doing so, but at what cost? I feel this show lacks "soul/heart", to move audience. I'm waiting for that to happen, right now it is very dry π Because even if Tae-oh is framed for something he didn't do, I'm not sure if I'd sympathise with his struggles lol This is the first time I've felt so apathetic to a main character even after 4 episodes, mainly because the narrative is structured in a very unconventional way, in order to preserve the mystery, they've ignored coherent story development.
Really?! It is hard to believe, because the dramas you mentioned were big scale production pieces, so many foreign…
Just read the article, and it's really crazy π€―π if things go further south, already the audience reaction is so negative, this show will become an iconic example of wasted potential ππ¬
Any thoughts on if the kiss is happening before or after jail? (What if In Ha frames him for murder because of…
I think the kiss is after the jail scene, and the jail incident is after the wedding.
The most believable theory for me is that Tae-oh will really be framed badly, and no one would help him, so once he's out, his plans and approach change completely, and he's out to destroy them all. I find this a lot believable than In-ha being so mad at Tae-oh that he'd undo everything they've accomplished together and have him framed. Honestly, I could never buy that In-ha was truly in love with Hye-won, I mean he knew she was a girl who suggested to Tae-oh that he should take advantage of his sister. Either he doesn't care about his sister, or he's fine with it because not emotionally invested in the relationship, he just wants superficial/physical benefits from his relationship with Hye-won.
Also, it would be hilarious if Tae-oh and Hye-won turn into a Bonnie and Clyde sort of couple, and manipulate everyone to get Kangoh group.
The writing has made the viewing experience just weird so far πππ
lets not pretend inha doesn't know he stole taeoh's girl. His entire inferiority complex is he knows his girl…
I agree with you that all the lead characters are morally gray, but In-ha didn't "steal Tae-oh's girl". Tae-oh gave her one look in the cafeteria and brushed off all questions In-ha asked about his interest in her. Neither did Hye-won say anything to In-ha about liking Tae-oh. In-ha only witnessed her giving that super weird advice to Tae-oh in the library regarding Hui-ju, which makes it seem like she actually isn't interested in Tae-oh, more than anything else.
Damn I had no idea this had the same budget as CLOY, Hotel Del Luna, and Vincenzo but with this shitty quality…
Really?! It is hard to believe, because the dramas you mentioned were big scale production pieces, so many foreign locations and costumes etc. They were extra in every way. The lead actors of those shows are super popular A-listers so their fee would also be huge. Seriously, this one doesn't look like it's a high budget, maybe all the interior locations are CGI lmao
Aren't they super good friends and she just jumps in and ruin it all... I'm not watching this until someone tells…
Things have changed over the ten year time leap..I think it's mainly due to how much In-ha has changed, he used to be playful and warm but he's slowly showing a different side to his character. Also, there is a sort of tension/strain in their friendship now as they're getting closer to their goal. It's becoming more obvious than ever that it was always a partnership. But imo, if Hye-won betrays In-ha, then that would be like the last blow
You've raised all the points I'm super curious about as well. My theory is similar, that Tae-oh and Hye-won know…
but that's the joy of watching an ongoing drama, we get to make as many theories as we like, both absurd and super clever, so it's fun to analyze stuff. It would be really hilarious if it's something far more simple and straightforward than we imagined lol
I just want that jerk chaebol guy to get away from Huiju, he is so annoying. that's the happy ending I want for her, for her to be free to choose
imo this goes one of two ways wrt to the characters: the love triangle is played straight, the guys are friends…
Exactly...I don't want the creators of the show to implore the audience to see the show as 2, only for them to give us the cliche and overdone route 1 at the end π it would be disappointing
Wait, I'm a bit confused with many time jumps...so in my understanding in 2013 they are in Hanguk University and the boys meet Hye-won for the first time, right? Then the events around the Chairman getting hospitalised and In-ha being introduced as the illegitimate son to the media - all this is happening in the year 2018?
Might be on a really unpopular side but I don't ship Tae oh with neither Hyewon nor Heejo...one is obviously so…
Agree π― Honestly, for now I'm hoping for Tae-oh's victory mainly because he's obviously the main character given all his screentime. But it's also possible that he'd betray someone or use someone and I'd feel bad for the victim and my opinion of his character would change, as a result π€£
The one thing that I appreciate most about this drama is how none of the characters are ideally "good" people, it almost gives off And Then There Were None vibes to me lol
And I agree, the love triangle looked non-existent in ep 3-4, Tae-oh almost looked irritated by Hye-won in some scenes, vice-versa. Also, there is something off about Hye-won & In-ha's relationship in 2018, like they don't look like a couple that's been together for so long πππ honestly none of the ships have enough depth in feelings or the material to justify why it makes sense to ship them π€£
With the limited information we have right now, that's where I pretty much am on theories as well. Of course,…
yes, all the points you raised intrigue me a lot as well. The thing about Tae-oh having his own revenge scheme, imo this is highly possible. But I find it really hard to support the theory that he is an illegitimate son of the Chairman for various reasons. Also, I cannot accept that Tae-oh has no personal ambitions behind making In-ha the chairman, like he swears. I think the reason he is "carrying" In-ha to the top of the empire, is to finally dethron him and take the spot himself. This theory would probably make Tae-oh a real scheming snake lol but yes since we're all just running with our ideas...another one that I think is highly possible is Tae-oh and Hye-won knowing each other prior to university. My god, there are so many theories π
Unless, there's another case or crime unrelated to this one happening later, and they're just there to watch lol
