Unpopular opinion but I loved his singing, tbh. It worked well into the scenes and provided the necessary mood more than (perhaps) an OST. I wish one Eunuch Cao song gets into the official release.
His drumbeating also gave me goosebumps. I will remember his name, Xing Min Shan, such a great actor!

To me this is the biggest draw to ZH's character. He's so human.
Many other characters who are driven by vengeance fight their monstrous enemies turn out to become monsters themselves. Despite his human flaws, to emerge from all this and triumph as human (not monster) is what the hero's journey is truly all about.
All that talk about flood prevention hits very close to home coming from a country with four seasons: hot, hotter, wet, wetter. Right now we are at "hotter" but flood situations over here aren't fun. Human lives matter, they always have but that Marquis is acting like a typical bureaucrat. "Fate" he says because he has power. Tch.
Climate change anxiety in Ancient China must have been a regular thing. We want rain but not flood. :(

Perhaps this is an unpopular opinion, but I like the singing on Eunuch Cao. His drum-banging scene too, so powerful, gave me goosebumps.
The Marquis also left an impact. I thought he really considered ZH as his lucky charm and that betrayal crushed him. I will miss them both.
Meanwhile, the 3rd fishy persona must be unraveled soon. Same with the masked one (my guess is Mr8's dad, based on physique).
