Some like to measure Xiao Zhan against other people’s achievements, I do not. But let me be clear: he operates on a level others simply cannot reach. Awards will come. He’s playing the long game. Every project he chooses, he gives 200%. I’ve been supporting him since 2019—I’ve seen how far he’s come, and I’ve learned patience along the way. I trust his decisions, and I fully support his career moves. I can't wait for which gets aired first: Ren Shaobai or Dr Liu. I will watch them all. My 2 cents.

There should be a rule that approving staff recuse themselves from making personal contributions to particular dramas that they're monitoring. It reeks of bias. She's made so many edits on this title alone. I guess MDL is not known for objectivity in the first place.
You are of course, correct. I submit additions to Filo movie pages here, too and they take forever and a half to approve it ... but this time, it's the staff herself who initiated the poster change so why, right? So it contributes to her thousands of points and she herself approves it? Isn't that a conflict of interest as well? Are they not subject to moderation? Ah inquiring minds would like to know. Maybe admin flex indeed.
Again, if not broken, don't fix. Maybe she had way too much time on her hands given all that attention LoZH has been getting? The drama is so successful it's hard to ignore for lovers or haters.
At the end of the day they can keep changing the poster or even Xiao Zhan's photo lol lol. But they can't change the fact that XZ, LoZH have gone out of the circle, and are so beloved by "native" audience and many of us all over the world. It's such a cultural flex for China.

She's a staff member who wants to do the "staffing" and my only hope is that she does this with genuine intentions and due diligence and *not* because her list of favorite Youku dramas (on her profile page) have already been overtaken by LoZH views.
I maintain that some things here are broken and need genuine fixing. BUT that red poster is what everyone recognizes. To change the poster here on MDL it while it still has a long-tail effect and everyone on the "native" social media is talking about it is disingenuous at best.
Also she's talking about "new guidelines" that the community has not even seen is such an admin flex, like saying "shut up,, y'all, I will change the LoZH poster just because I can because I am staff" lol lol. Anyway, if you know, you really do know, right? ;-)

"Plan to watch" lol. This poster is on Youku International since it premiered. How would international fans recognize that ensemble poster? Even on Google Playstore, *this is* the LoZH poster they use to get more ppl to download the app. I know this because it's what I did, I found ZH in red!

Yes, at least BE CONSISTENT with what the audience see in the official platform. In Youku International it is STILL the old poster with ZH wearing red outfit. This ensemble poster is too generic. I know because I rewatch the drama everyday LOL and the red poster beckons me. Ah well, MDL keeps disappointing. Fixing what ain't broke and broking what's fixed.
Also if you look at Youku official site, it's still the old one with solo Zang Hai wearing red. Applying for change here seems quite arbitrary and whimsical. New rules have not been published but they implement changes already. Lets bang the drums now lol lol. Jiang Xiang hit it!
With all due respect, the official poster on Youku where I rewatch this drama (from SEAsia) is the old poster with Zang Hai wearing red. It's what's recognizable. Afaik a great majority of MDL users are not "native" so please understand why we question this since as you say they "new guidelines" are yet to be available, not promulgated. If it's still being worked on, why fix something that ain't broke?

Ni hao. I am one of the intl fans and I am loving the cultural references from this drama. Many times, I ran to do a search... for example, I thought Dongxia was a real place because the capital, Beijing is real (of course). I also looked up the mountain (fiction), and the Feng Shan altar, what is it for. The flat scepters 笏 that ZH and the ministers (their ranks and robe colors) are holding, what are they for... these are what comes to mind after my second rewatch as I took some notes. I am going for a third rewatch soon, LOL.
Most of all the series really got me very intrigued about architecture and tomb-building in Ancient China. I only know about the Qin tomb and famous terracotta warriors, so I am catching up on all the others, so much to learn. As we all know, China is one of the oldest civilizations, and for eager learners, there's so much to know and I thank LoZH's entire production team for piquing my interest, this is stellar work, all 40 episodes of them. This will be a classic. A very fine cultural flex. Xiao Zhan's soft power goes far and wide. :)
