The lead being a better couple is not a fact but an opinion and opinions are more subjective. Yes dramas can be objectively bad or good but characters in it are not. A character that you may love might be really annoying to someone else. The leads did know each other for a long time but their lack of communication says otherwise. To me they didn't seem like best friends and that too is my own opinion. If john and jiwan had more screentime this drama definitely would have been better. To me the leads didn't have enough chemistry. Also I would like you to be a little respectful to someone else's opinion. You have no idea what I've watched and how much I know about the leads so let's not disregard someone's opinion just because it's different from yours.

Oh yess I totally agree that john and jiwan were a much superior couple. I didn't see the drama but I saw all of their compilations 😍. I tried to do the same thing for the leads but their romance just wasn't interesting enough. John and jiwan just oozed chemistry and I wished them to have more screentime. I love love love them.

Your opinion about the ml and fl having a better story is also subjective as it isn't a fact. It should be seen subjectively and it is. People watch dramas for a good time (mostly). The relationship between the leads is deeper because they did know each other for a looong time.
