Ummmm. How is this series over at 24 eps? Based on the story arc I’m expecting another 2 at least? Did they run out of money? This is sooooo bizarre.

Episode 3 just taught me there are 14 Costco locations in Taiwan. Saw the Kirkland milk and did a double-take, 😆

There is Chinese BL? I mean, in the last 7 years and not so edited as to be able to call them bromance? Taiwanese BL shows always feel to me like they could/should have had another 4 episodes in them. I liked Kiseki: Dear to Me, but they just skipped over like 5 years and tons of relevant character backstory that would have made it so much better. I wonder if they are shorter due to budget constraints that other Taiwanese dramas don’t have? I have watched plenty of straight Taiwanese dramas that could have easily had 4 fewer episodes and been better for it.

OMG! Ep. 3 gives us an interior view and I finally understand the coat cabinet! It is a disinfecting cabinet - uses UV to kill germs and bacteria.

I had the same thought about those knees! She’s beautiful. Is there knee beautification surgery? It is a shame to have those knees as an actress in a short short skirt culture.

Right? I loved the younger brother. Great smile, adorable dimple. Can’t wait to see him grow up to take the lead, he stole a lot of scenes.

He has improved a lot in the last few years. I think having the chance to play more diverse roles has really helped. Loved him in “Island”.

I agree with everything you said here. I enjoyed the action, but there were some plot holes and strange things that just didn’t get closure. Felt they could have inserted a tad more romance as there really is absolutely none other than the leads risking their lives to protect each other repeatedly.

Agreed! He is ML in Golden House Hidden Love on IQIYI. It s much longer and shows he can act. He’s going to become absolutely huge, I think (no pun intended on his height, LOL).

He’s SO young still! Only 21 right now. He is ML in Golden House Hidden Love on IQIYI. Highly recommend it! It is 24 episodes of 45 mins or so each and you get to see those dimples a lot!

I agree! There is always so much push back against older guy younger woman because in North America we think of grooming, etc. I find it more jarring when a woman is 10 years older than her counterpart but they are supposed to play characters of similar age like Victoria Song and Timmy Xu in “Almost Lover”. I couldn’t buy that casting at all.

Jerry Yan is everything! EVERYTHING!! Using Luo Zhou as a young Jerry Yan is also inspired: the jaw, the nose, totally on point. The age gap in the actors didn’t bother me. The age gap in the characters is only 10 years or so and Jerry pulls off late 30’s if not quite 34.

His role in My Mister, although minor support role, is SO well done. If you haven’t watched that one I highly recommend that and “Come and Hug Me” for great performances by JKY.

This drama is a cut above most CDramas. Does such an amazing job with expressing emotions and the music is used so well. Music can make or break a viewing experience. This is definitely one of those times where it is used beautifully to enhance the emotional impact of the scenes. Jerry Yan. OMG he’s everything.

I really appreciated his talent and enjoyed his work. The world has lost a great actor. So very sad that he went through this and felt suicide was his only recourse. My heart goes out to his family.

Seriously, the MUSIC! So so good. I loved everything about this series with the exception of Gong Jun’s makeup in about 5 scenes where it was distractingly awful. His eye shadow was super peach and his foundation/contouring was heavy and made this beautiful man look weirdly lumpy and unattractive. It was probably all scenes that were filmed same day with the same bad makeup job but it is bad enough to make me cringe.
That aside, I recommend sticking with this one as it was truly worth it. And the MUSIC! Did I mention the music? 😉❤️❤️🥰
