i agree, i am feeling alot more Prescence from their pairing than the main leads.
its not uncommon where the second pairings get license to kinda take creative direction & they out perform the main leads. their chemistry feels more organic, its like we feel they want to be together more. Jerry Yan & XRH are good but feels more as they are following the standard storyline which is also ok.
I think it happens 50% of dramas, but hey it helps push new talent into c-drama

I have watched 6 episodes.... For those starting to watch please & please go in with expectations this drama is very very light hearted, that is the intention! These casts are just having fun with eachother. I think if you go in for some smiles you will enjoy it. Not everything needs to be a classic, this drama is just for smiles!

i have watched many south korean shows wondering why can't i see this on chinese drama.... one thing i get annoyed with is when c-dramas say they will air on a date then gets pushed back constantly, it happens all the times. these other countries dont do this....
one big advantage i will say c-drama has over korean & western counterparts is ability to keep producing charismatic male lead actors. I think its tough to really get viewers to invest into these stars but the platform they create i think works better getting these guys to perform live on shows, concerts, dramas.... US since 80's Stallone, Van Damme, Schwartnegger have really dropped the ball.... Female leads kinda the same but i feel c-dramas have set most females up to fail lol.... still a Male Supremacy industry....

Chinese drama limitations are heaps more noticeable. UK, US, South Korean dramas don't have to worry about this which sometimes gets annoying. These countries can use drugs, show violence, have sexual contents & all they have to do is put an age-rating on it, they have cleaned their hands. Chinese dramas have to always play it safe. I see it all the times. Look it encourages some creativity but also encourages repetative behaviours at times. If they don't comply then they don't get aired until they make the changes
the ost/soundtrack has really for me been an x-factor in this drama, the value its added been really good. not getting bored at all, its slow pace but its building nicely
I want to be honest, this is a bit of a slow burn.... I still think it is very good, but pacing of the drama seems abit slow. I know its building up and good thing its 24 episidoes, think 24 for most dramas should be the magic number, not 50-60+.... I think the Yu Xiang & Huang Yi storyline will add good dynamic to this drama

My intentions are not to upset you but be honest with what I have seen in the past.
If the cast & crew are ready to go including the female lead to start shooting, there is a 5% chance he is staying. I am hearing from other c-drama friends their insights & they think the same. This isn't US, UK, Korea where things like this don't matter as much, it's China. They don't tolerate crap. I have seen dramas been delayed airing because a support cast has been in hot water, a minor support cast was delaying the airing not the leads. These production teams get overruled quite often and regularly but authority figures.
This incident doesn't just impact CFY himself but rest of cast & crew. Look at the impact Kris Wu had on Yang Zi drama 'Golden Hairpin' a drama which will most likely never see the light of day yet so much time invested in it.
I think Chen Feiyu recovers from this but as mentioned time on the sidelines. I am wondering if some casts right now might be exploring other options or still want to proceed?

Just watch this space, they said the same about YBJ after her scandal & one thing I have learnt over the years is productions play it safe because so much censorship & so much out of their control unlike in countries like South Korea or Japan where this wouldn't matter. yeah, i have seen multiple pairings continue doing dramas back to back so think might be decent time, its not like its immediate, filming of ALBFAD finished like 3 years ago and only aired last year, so decent amount of time has past and even if does commence filming will take 1-2 years to air. I dont see a big deal.
