I don't understand why this rating isn't higher.... I think the general c-drama fan prefers the repetitive youth dramas....
I would rather watch mature theme with experienced casts with clever story line, than the same repetitive love triangle youth dramas with in-experienced casts trying to outstage eachother rather than work as a collative....
The young kids in this drama will look back 10 years down the track, the involvement and value they have brough is due to good story writing plus good guidance by the cast

These guys want big name female leads, big scripts, best chance to get opportunities moving forward, these ladies Zhao Lusi, Esther, Bai Lu will give them the best chance to do that. Shen Yue again, her agency really needs do big convincing to a big male lead name

fair call, my point is both dramas are finished i watched, pacing quicker..... i like this drama too, i am big wang hedi fan.... just trying to pin point where some viewers might not be enjoying this drama....

I personally see its a fine a drama however I can see why some might not and see potentially why ratings are dropping....
1. lack of exceptional support characters & lack of good second/third pairings.... lets be honest, I dont think either of the support pairings have been strong, neither support pairings really draw the audience in, its all Dylan Wang & Yukee Chen
2. pacing is slow, too many episodes, I watched 2 korean dramas last week, both finished. They were 10 & 12 episodes. Fast pacing. I think Chinese dramas really need to take a good look at themselves and ask is all this extra dialogue what the audience really wants?
For now this is what I am putting this down to.... However hoping second half of this drama can see better dialogue and better development of these support casts & also better development of Dylan & Yukee, I do not think they are the problem, I see many comments no chemistry, I dont agree personally but not going to dismiss those who think overwise

I am a very big Wang Hedi fan, just will say in regards to Evernight 2, I agree was a very weak installment however and big however.... The entire script did not do Wang Hedi, Ireine Song or the rest of the cast any favors at all.... The script was horrible.... The writing team needs share accountability same as production team.
Arthur Chen dropped out of doing Evernight 2, he chose to commit to 'Legends of Awakening' with Cheng Xiao.... Evernight 1 was a hit, I wonder why he decided not to commit to the sequel?.... Obviously, the script for him was a fail.... Wang Hedi and Ireine were doomed for failure, Wang Hedi has since been unfairly compared to Arthur Chen in Evernight, unfair because Arthur Chen would have suffered the same fate doing the sequel.... For Wang Hedi this is only time i will ever defend him, deferring the blame to the script because honestly, that was the problem, very little of the problem is related to the acting....
Evernight 2 was 46 episodes and Evernight 1 was 60+.... This is ridiculous.... how do you keep an audience motivated when the dialogue is that long & repetitive.... Now that Wang Hedi is more established now in the industry, he wont be pushed into accepting such scripts again, compared to when still an 18/19 year old kid starting out and grabbing decent opportunities when presented.... advantage for him, he got to partner up with Ireine Song as she is a gorgeous actress with experience at the time & got some Wuxia drama experience.... SHORT TERM PAIN for LONG TERM GAIN!
