I can see this pov, I like the series and I like the ship but I wish that there was more story to explore, and I do not blame the production team because they actually expanded things a little more than the manga. The manga was just 5 chapters and it was short asf, could have done a little bit of backstory for kataoka. We only got that brief statement about his parents this episode.

I love jbls the most, they’re not afraid of exploring themes that most people feel uncomfortable with so I can’t wait to see more of Chiaki and AE, and how far AE is willing to go without telling him the truth and Chiaki’s reaction to it.

For the bad Thai pls I’ve seen is bc they prioritize the ship over the plot, also a lot of ships no matter what drama they do they give the same vibe , like each role should feel different but they give the same.

It’s not necessarily low, but in general Japanese BLs always get rated below 8 with some exceptions. In comparison to other BLs produced by other countries, some get rated 8.5 or even 9 in their first episode (and is not like the plot is any better or worse). I’ve always wondered why.
