Then you will remain waiting because this series was produced by TV Tokyo, the same company who did I hear the Sunspot and Cherry Magic. The fact we have gotten kiss scenes in this series already is a miracle considering how much TV Tokyo censors their BLs.

I agree with this for the most part, except I do think someone is capable of falling for their celebrity crush. It is up to that person to bring that celebrity down from their pedestal and be open to actually building a close connection, he hasn’t had that opportunity with the Ai due to internal and external factors, but we do know he’s been doing that with Enaga’s version of him. I deleted the last sentence bc of manga spoilers sorry.

I think I see it that way because I read the manga and in there I got the impression he loved both.

@hathor-nim i align with your take because that is literally what Hayama and his bartender’s friend conversation was about in an earlier episode when it came to the whole separation and the “rivalry” for the same role. It was clear as day.

BL is just an umbrella term to explore mlm relationships meaning it does not always have to be romantic, however, this relationship is definitely a romance and what we are seeing now is just part of the conflict within these characters in the story before it gets resolved. Relationships aren’t just rainbows and roses, sometimes people can be selfish in their feelings even without meaning to— does not mean they don’t love each other… they are just going through it at the moment.

I don’t understand how there are some people who think Enaga is his real personality, and not Ai, I read the manga and that was not the case at all. He’s both, Ai just happens to be the confident side of him. Rather than treating Enaga/Ai as two different people, let’s talk more about how chiaki acts differently around him.

Enaga and Ai are literally the same person and have the same personality except Ai is more confident. The difference is how chiaki acts around him, but he’s in love with Enaga/Ai as one.

rather than seeing it as cringe I try to see it as Chiaki worshipping AE— he has that man on a pedastal because of much he loves him as a fan and probably more. Some fans would do this kind of thing or even more given the opportunity.

I was so sad about it, because I truly tried to get into it because I prefer jbls but this one so far ain’t it. So, like you said I will wait until the rest of the episodes are out and binge. If it’s just fluff and sweet for fluffs sake and nothing else then I won’t like this show unfortunately.

I disagree. I don’t think Enaga and AE are all that different. The only real difference is that AE is more confident and that Chiaki sees them differently. Chiaki looks at AE like some kind of god, so he acts more like a fan with a crush. But with Enaga, he can just be himself because he doesn’t put him on a pedestal. That alone changes how AE and Enaga act around him. Other than that, they’re both clumsy (confirmed by AE’s hairstylist), pervy, and completely soft for Chiaki.

But to answer your question, I like both, I don’t need to choose when is the same person.

I will have to rewatch this show another time, I tried watching it but it didn’t live up to the hype because everyone said it was like Boys Over Flower. It is not. Just because it has 4 popular boys does not make it Boys over flower. At this point, we should all start lying about our favorite BLs to get people to watch them because look at this one as an example.

I even fell asleep mid episode. So I really need time before going back. Hopefully, I’ll like it better when I have no expectations.

Not all Japanese BL do the fish kissses, but when I googled why there are some with fish kisses is because they have their own version of censorship because they see kissing something couples should do privately and if the show is rated PG, it will have a fish kiss or nothing at all. If it’s rated R most of the times they don’t do fish kisses and show a proper kiss i.e. The end of the world with you, the cornered mouse dreams of cheese, the proper way to write love etc.
