I'm not surprised by his development. He kept going on about being lowly in the first season and I knew that whole dialogue with one of Ning Wang's men when in jail would set him over the edge.

I feel like they are going to include some sort of time skip in the upcoming episodes in order for this to all work out. Maybe mudan helps him with the lettuce stuff, he breaks up with her again eg the coconut stuff, there's a time skip and then we get the boat/their first kiss??

This is my biggest question. He's seen talking about how he asked the emperor for candles, he's not jailed. I'm so confused on how he gets out of the embezzlement. Unless they somehow find another scapegoat or Mudan has money stored somewhere...but that was a lot of money...

Have you seen ep 17 trailer? Most of the sexy scenes are from that trailer. So we will most likely be getting those scenes soon. The knife emoji is ep 18. That's when Ning Wang stabs JCY. So I feel like the scenes aren't fake.

There's a clip of her investigating something and she knocks down a mask which turns out to be him, so I think eventually JCY will escape whatever prison they put him in.

Being captured by liu chang is basically the same as imprisonment 😭that's why I wrote that.

We get maybe 2 episodes of happiness and then jcy's and mudan's imprisonment happens lmao. No wonder they have him feasting on her. Happiness before the storm.

For me, it's not about seeing it as a romance drama or not. I didn't start this viewing it as a romance, but if you are going to include romance, dragging it out will annoy most viewers. They like each other, and the reasons jcy has for not pursuing anything are dumb because everyone already views mudan as his beloved concubine. They will come after her to hurt him no matter what. And even if she wasn't his concubine, liu chang is obsessed with her, so the princess will never let her know peace. Her life would be in danger anyway, so the noble bs is driving everyone nuts because, given the situation, it doesn't make sense. I think
I could withstand it more if she didn't have this reputation of being loved by him. Then his actions would make sense, and I would not be expecting anything to progress.

There was a leaked scene of JCY and Mudan kissing and then sleeping together (it's implied). I think that's going to be their first kiss lol. I feel like it'll happen ep 16 or 17. Tbh though, it really should not be taking this long given what happened in season 1. They should have had their first kiss in the recent episode. Not even an accidental kiss has happened. I get that this is airing on TV in China, and there are rules, but kids can handle kissing. It's taking too long. I think I'd be less frustrated if this drama weren't split into 2 parts and I didn't have to wait 6 months.

Uncle Wu's anger given context makes sense. From his perspective, the He family was willing to let a bunch of innocent people die for profit and then turned around to give them money for burial which is insulting. It's similar to how insurance companies in the States won't pay for certain life-saving medicines but then will turn around and say they'll pay for them after the person has already died. That kind of cruelty can drive even the most sane of people to do what he did. Is this right? No, but it's human. Also, he is shown to feel some remorse in some aspects after seeing that HWF's mother didn't know what was going on. From HWF's father's perspective, he was caught between a rock and a hard place. So I can't really blame him for his action in the same way Mudan could not blame him as well. She has experienced 1st hand what happens when you don't do what the nobles want. As for her conversation with JCY, I don't think her saying he stopped her for her is far-fetched because if she had succeeded in killing Uncle Wu and found out the truth later, she'd never forgive herself, given her nature. While I do wish JCY had just explained the situation to her, I also get why he didn't. All in all, I'm glad the conflict was resolved, and I'm not mad at the angle they picked to establish her opening up a medical shop.

Here's my thoughts on ep 13

I'm glad they explained everything. I was so mad lmao. Can't wait for the next set of episodes. With the way things are going, I think they will get together ep 16. I hope I'm correct.

I'm so so so mad at the writers. I really want to know what goes on inside that head of theirs. And I'm almost certain they are going to try and fix this by either having Mudan leave and find some epiphany or have JCY almost die and soften her heart. They ruined my ship for me. I'm so mad.
