That was not why she was mad. She doesn't only like people who listen to her. She just doesn't want to spend the rest of her life being forced to live by someone else rules and only living to please them. I am really glad that LBY and CSS relationship is currently the way it is. My reason for this is because I'm honestly tired of watching cdramas where the leads immediately like each other because of some love at first sight stuff when they literally know nothing about each other. Also, it's refreshing to see CSS still be able to speak her mind to him despite the fact that with his authority she should be afraid of him. Idk if what I am typing makes sense but hopefully it's getting across.

Also, CSS's mom doesn't have very good listening skills because even after all the questions they both asked CSS, she still thinks that CSS is only marrying LBY to go against her when in reality she agreed to marry him to save the family. If she had said no and LBY's heart seemed to break, what does she think the emperor would do to their family?

Third, I hope a friendship develops between CSS and HZ. I want her to have another friend besides WQ and I actually like HZ.

….CSS is literally this way because if she wasn’t she would have died. Her 3rd aunt has tried to starve her to death several times and the only reason it didn’t work was because of Yangyang. Her mother literally abandoned her without a second thought and when she came back after 15 years she didn’t even both to try to teach her daughter proper etiquette. CSS behavior at times is bad but her mother is without a doubt a bad mother. She’s upset because CSS behavior is a direct reflection of her parenting skills which are shameful. I agree that LBY handled things incorrectly but her mother isn’t a saint. Also YS is a horrible person. Someone who would spread nasty rumors about you just to force you to marry them isn’t a good person. Honestly if we are being honest all three love interest probably aren’t the best for CSS and it would have been better if CSS’s third aunt was allowed to raise her instead.

It triggered me so much. My mom has never said anything like that. She’s sweet. But my dad on the other hand…I’ve had several experiences like CSS’s with him. So watching that made me soo mad.

I get where you are coming from, but CSS mom criticized her in such a harsh way in public allows others to say and do whatever they want to her because they are under the impression that no matter what happens her own mother won’t care/finds her worthless. To me that’s more damaging than her marrying into LBY’s family.

That would not be reasonable and no one in the court would be okay with that. Her dad just became a marquis and that was for fighting many wars. It would not make sense to give her that title without her accomplishing anything. Plus she's not a noble.

Love this analysis. I really like HZ and her determination. I'm honestly shocked that blood scares CSS so much especially when she comes from a general family and spent the first couple years of her life being mistreated. You'd think after everything she saw she wouldn't be so scared.

That scene with HZ also made me think she might end up being a better match for LY especially if she starts to treat him better. Then the first family wouldn't be able to walk all over the second family anymore. Hopefully things work out for them.

She ends up engaged to him in the novel because the empress is dying and told her that she wants to see her get married before she dies. YS isn't CSS first choice. I think the 5th prince was?? But something happened and it didn't work out so then she settled on YS. If not for this, YS and her would not be engaged at all because she doesn't love him.

The emperor was definitely happy and LBY looked hopeful. I think both of them are happy. LBY might be slightly sad though because the breakup will upset CSS.
