But either way as Ximmich has explained it , there is a difference between a person being unhealthy and a relationship being unhealthy. What you are explaining is more about Hira's character and not their relationship as a whole. I already said that Hira needs character growth (although I just want him to gain more confidence and have no problem with his gun imaginations) but that doesn't make his relationship with Hira unhealthy

The gun part was an imagination. I mean don't you have those times in your life whe you imagine beating the shit out of people you hate? There is nothing wrong with having those imaginations. Although I agree that both characters need to change and be better but it's still more about the characters than the relationship.

In this episode both Kiyoi and Hira saved each other in a way. Kiyoi supported Hira when they wanted him to buy stuff for them again. Hira beat that light haired dude because he was bullying Kiyoi. That's what the (second) gun represented.
As a result now both of them got rid of Hira's friends in their lives until graduation. Kiyoi didn't spend time with them anymore and Hira didn't do their errands anymore. Only Kiyoi's.

It was awkward on purpose. Hira was shocked and I can't understand what was going through Kiyoi's head lol

The way I see it , Kiyoi also losesand gets bullied as we saw in this episode. So it's not all worship really. Also I don't think there is anything wrong with calling someone out. For example Hira is a stalker and Kiyoi calls him that. How does that make Kiyoi the bad guy?
Either way there was a time skip at the end of this episode and I am assuming both Hira and Kiyoi will show how much they've changed

Reading the comments I saw one or 2 people being confused about the characters and their relationships. The relationship between the 2 is not an unhealthy one but the characters are a little bit unhealthy. Hira needs a lot more self confidence and Kiyoi needs to realize that it's OK to show vulnerability and talk to others. But the relationship on itself isn't unhealthy. A toxic relationship hurts people in it but Hira and Kiyoi are boh happy with the relationship and everything is consensual

Kiyoi isn't "acting " he is cool lol. And he doesn't expect to be worshipped, Hira is doing it himself because he wants to.

It was the most awkward kiss I've ever seen lol. Although I'm pretty sure it was awkward on purpose

I need to give credit when it's due. Hagiwara is doing an amazing job with showing this socially awkward insecure teenager. I've already said before that I'm not the biggest fan of Hira(although my opinion is slowly changing to something more positive) but I think the reason why I feel that is because of Hagiwara's amazing acting skills. Hira is kind of weird and creepy exactly as Kiyoi called him. Which is why I feel uncomfortable watching him and I am pretty sure they are doing it on purpose.

I'll give it a 2 out of 10 . The problem with them is not their relationship, it's the fact that both of them are insecure teenagers with social problems and can't express themselves well. They seriously need to communicate more. Specifically Kiyoi.

And I think it's important to understand that this relationship is consentual which is why I don't consider it very toxic. Neither of them are doing anything the other one hates. Hira stalks Kiyou but Kiyoi doesn't dislike it. Kiyoi orders Hira around but Hira is super happy with it. Basically the relationship is weird but there is consent and they make each other happy.

I haven't read the novels but I've been spoiled a little because I wasn't comfortable with Hira's personality and asked if he was going to change. All I know us that Hira won't be following Kiyoi around which is good and is something that I look forward to.

I didn't want to mention it but I agree with your last sentence a lot. It's extremely hard to be close to someone like Hira. That's why , for the sake of both of them I want to see Hira's change the most(both of them need to change but Kiyoi imo is already having a better start than Hira)

Kieta hatsukoi is a feel good show with cute characters, and exaggerated comedy.

Utsukushii kare is about teo flawed and insecure characters growing up and becoming better adults.

Genuinely find it weird that people compare them . These two shows seem way too different to me.
