Thank you for your review, I was looking for someone to spoil me the differences lol
Honestly as someone who doesn't like Koyama, I'm not sure how to feel about that part but I really really want to watch the movie now because of your summary
People just want reasons to hate tbh. I even saw someone saying that they dislike this season because Kiyoi didn't…
"yet I'm a little confused, because you seem to be saying it's better to just say "I hate it, i'm dropping it" than to give reasons why you don't like it."
All I'm saying is that I don't mind or care about people disliking the show But if you want to try hard and give me reasons as to why you dislike a show then expect me to give you my opinion as well.
I've seen people get unreasonable and irrational when they want to prove others that their "feelings" are valid in many situations specially in fiction. This doesn't mean anyone who has a negative opinion is a hater but if they say something entirely false about the show then I would assume that they are. Complaining about development in a 4 episode season is nitpicking to me

"Some people don't like it because they don't like it. Just because you like it doesn't mean that everyone who doesn't is actively trying not to"
I couldn't care less about what others like or dislike. My problem is with their reasons for disliking it.
You know people who hate a story can simply say they hate it and move on instead of trying to convince others that there is a problem with the story that doesn't even exist in the plot?
People are in fact trying too hard to be haters. If I don't like a show then I'll usually drop it and avoid it with a simple "this show wasn't my thing" but that's not what's happening here. To watch a 4 episode season full of development and still complain about lack of development seems like nitpicking and not an actual criticism.

I'm not exactly new to bl. It's just not my favorite genre.
Funnily enough I normally love korean drama but I don't like their bls is it weird? I've tried watching some of the most famous korean bls (semantic error for example) and for some reason, it wasn't my cup of tea.
On the other hand, I do enjoy taiwan bl to a certain extent and Japanese bls are just top quality to me
But the only bl I've ever loved to this point, is utsukushii kare. No other bl has done it for me

tbh, I haven't watched many bls since it's not my fave genre but from what little I've seen and heard, Japanese bls are great at pacing in a way no other bl from other country is and for this reason, I'm really really hoping to see more bls from Japan.
Thankfully , with the seeminly recent popularity of bl shows in the east and Japan and with the recent success of utsukare 2 in Japan, I think it's safe to assume that we might be getting more bl from Japan and even someone like me who doesn't normally watch bl, might actually turn in to a bl addict
I don't get people saying they got bored due to "lack of development" because I think I can watch HiraKiyo just…
People just want reasons to hate tbh. I even saw someone saying that they dislike this season because Kiyoi didn't say he loves Hira (he said it twice)
Both Kiyoi and Hira have shown so much development this season specially Kiyoi so this is not even a valid criticism.
It would be nice if people just say "this show isn't my cup of tea" and leave instead of straight up lying about the series.
At the end of ep 4 Hira tells Kiyoi that he wants to take his pix, but "on the same stage" this time. What did…
He said the word "stage" in Japanese. Viki translated it to "on the same set"
But Hira also used the word "space" right after.
"I want to take your picture, on the same stage/set , in the same space"
So Hira obviously means "the same level" of some sorts. Also in episode 2, Kiyoi said a very similar thing but he used the word "world" instead
"take my picture in the same world"
It seems like Hira has finally decided to try and be on the same level as Kiyoi eventhough he still doesn't see himself to be up there. But at least, he has a goal now
I think people missed the point of Hira's development this season.
Hira is not there yet. He still can't see himself and Kiyoi as equals. He still feels lesser but instead what he got is a goal. A goal to reach Kiyoi and to take his picture one day. Before this, Hira was too scared to even think about ever reaching Kiyoi but after this season he is willing to try. Hira's development has been a lot more "subtle" than Kiyoi's but subtle is not non-existent
Kudos to the director and staff for portraying every important part of their relationship throug how Kiyoi and Hira position themselves :
Two things: anybody else feel bad for Kurata ending up with that ass, Shirota? I know she said he changed, but…
I mean people can change a lot after high-school so the Shirota thing didn't bother me
But it was sad to see how Hira was basically invisible the entire time and the only acknowledgement he got was Kiyoi asking him to get ginger ale. I understand why they couldn't just come out in front of their past classmates but it was still sad.
Here's a link to one of their analysis about season 1: https://www.tumblr.com/emotionallychargedtowel/712119914817880064/re-evaluating-pursuing-distancing-in-utsukushii?source=share
I'm waiting for haters to find the show and make it drop lower than 8 just like last time.

Hope to get more info from fans in Japan
I'll take any content at this point. Just give me these two dumbasses staring at each other for 5 seconds
