I really love the first couple. The top is manipulative which makes the relationship flawed but God knows I die for flawed ships. and I'm tired of anything sugary
Second couple is boring though. Have to skip their scenes but I guess that couple is for the people who have the preference of "cute angst bottom" and "strong mean top who secretly has a heart of gold" which is fine, but it's not my cup of tea unfortunately
What I find annoying though, is that every single time I like a bl, some random person has to compalin about it being "toxic" like? Why don't you people just go watch a children's cartoon and let me enjoy my thing for once 🙄

I don't want this entire utsukare page to be a pointless argument that was started by my simple question (and I never forced something on anyone either???) so I deleted my comments but I will say 2 things and hope you won't get mad again for no reason?
1. I still believe Taiken Yoho is following and copying utsukare not only in tropes but also in their entire marketing (anyone who's been watching utsukare marketing shoud be able to tell the similarities)
2. I have no reason to be insecure as you claim (?) utsukare is still more popular that Taiken yoho in Japan. They got so many titles this year in Japan and both of the actors and the director are booked and busy. Taiken yoho is popular but nowhere near utsukare right now so why are you attacking me again?

they both had great development for the amount of time they had (only 10 episodes and a movie is not that much to be honest, it's the same amount as cherry magic and way less than a lot of popular thai bl drama)
But I also , like many others, just wish we could get more Kiyoi POV in the movie in general . simply because I love Kiyoi so much and the entire actor/entertainment indusrty plot depended on Kiyoi. We couldn't even see Kiyoi's loneliness when Hira was stabbed.
(I've read the novels too, they tried their best to put the novel's elements in to the movie don't get me wrong)

Ummm sorry to jump in on the convo but the actor who plays Kiyoi (Yagi Yusei) actually used to be a personal trainer and he was second place in a body building competition before becoming a vocalist/actor and losing his muscles.
He has always been Muscular, he doesn't need makeup for that lol. Even in season 1 he was Muscular
You should search the name "Yagi Yusei" and look for his abs.

Utsukushii kare is doing OK even now with small amount of cinemas showing the movie and they sometimes show the movie at terrible hours like late at night or early in the morning but utsukushii kare is still on top 10 selling movies right now fighting with some really popular movies that came out after utsukushii kare
I think that's actually amazing. I don't actually think Utsukare will stop screening until at least next month.

ah, honstly I really like Masato's character. This show's been really fun to watch actually. I was skeptical about watching it because "hosts" aren't good people but I guess it's similar to a mafia or Yakuza show.
I'm liking Rui's character too. She's a lesbian right? I wish there were people who could translate this so I woudn't have to force myself to watch with my minimal understanding of Japanese haha
