Others have already explained it but Kiyoi basically can't communicate and say how he feels to Hira even if the words "I love you" is so easy to say when he isn't sincere and trying to fake it to play his role.

This is what I largely disagree with. His opinion matters the most out of everyone.
Him being a fictional character doesn't change that he is and should be the person who has a say in all of this and not people like Koyama. Or even audience like you.

The character developments clearly exists in the show even if you want to ignore them and the relationship has already changed as well. I don't know what you want from a 5 episode show . Yes Hira has gained a lot of self respect. Didn't you see how he rejected Koyama? Kiyoi is clearly struggling with communication and trying to form the words "I love you" and it was even shown as a practice in his play. Hira is not the one to go around Kiyoi like a puppy anymore and Kiyoi isn't forcing anything on him even knowing that Hira probably likes it. How can you not see it? Or maybe you refuse to but whatever.

I don't want everything to be the same . But I do want them to keep important details in because this is a type of story where the characters can easily change based on what they show . Kiyoi is currently trying to be able to open up and confess for example. They decided to show it through him practicing that part as an actor. Will people understand what it means? I feel like many won't. I am just hoping for a good season finale

Guys I really need to see that Kiyoi and Hira living together scene with Kiyoi getting rejected . And Kiyoi telling Hira he is human and Hira is worthy of love in episode 6 .

Well if you in return are not going to get upset for me stating an opinion I want to address this and disagree with you.

For those of you who haven't read the CD drama , this is exactly why I am upset about episode 5 and Kiyoi's POV being portrayed since anyone who has read it, knows that Kiyoi and Hira and their relationship is not supposed to stay like this at all. They are supposed to change. I'll wait until next episode before talking about this .

I am getting tired of people mentioning Kiyoi as cruel, horrible, unjustified.

Seriously what are you guys talking about at this point? Yes Kiyoi is rude and direct and lacks the ability to communication but what part of him was "cruel in many ways"? Did he put Hira in a dungeon ? Made Hira buy things for him "against his will"? Didn't pay Hira back?

Even in the tv series, it is painfully clear that Kiyoi is not the problem with Hira and never has been. I remember arguing with someone a while back but Kiyoi also did take Hira's comfort in to consideration as well. He didn't start telling Hira to do things for him out of nowhere. It was because Hira's attention was painfully clear. If Hira didn't want to he could simply say no. But he wanted to and to Kiyoi that was clear. The only bad thing Kiyoi did was putting up with those "friends" of his when neither he nor Hira enjoyed their company but Kiyoi is an insecure guy who can't talk to people properly.

Also I am sorry but you don't get to say what's justified or not, Hira does. Your opinion here sounds exactly like Koyama who likes to tell others what type of relationship normal and what isn't without looking at the happiness of people in it. If 2 people are happy in a relationship regardless of gender , religion or flaws eiher of them have, just leave them alone and let them be happy.

He went from not being able to talk to anyone to hitting people. Making friends. Telling Kiyoi he couldn't go to the after party even after Kiyoi told him to come. He could even reject someone. I don't know how you think he hasn't changed.

Kiyoi learned to live and let go after getting bullied instead of putting up with those people. Kiyoi started seeing Hira differently and he is trying super hard to communicate better with people and to be able to confess his feelings. He wants Hira as a boyfriend and not a worshipper. I mean in case it's not clear he hasn't asked much from Hira in the past 2 episodes which is supposed to show the change in their dynamic but somehow people miss that. They are not like they use to be anymore.
I am going to admit that Kiyoi's POV wasn't done well though. I'll have to wait until the next episode to say how I feel about it.

Hira isn't dysfunctional because he loves Kiyoi! Are people not allowed to love others despite their flaws? Kiyoi isn't half as bad as you described. So what if he calls a stalker a stalker?

Hira's problem is that he "worshipped" Kiyoi without actually paying attention to how Kiyoi feels. Hira thinks Kiyoi is like a God to him and he is not worthy of his love.

In the drama CD, Kiyoi spends a good amount of time trying to get the courage to confess to Hira and make him his boyfriend but Hira thinks he isn't worthy of it. Which is why I say Hira has huge self esteem issues and Kiyoi is much healthier and normal in comparison. Kiyoi's biggest problem is that he can't communicate.

But it's obviously taking a different turn in the series and they decided to just force Koyama where he doesn't belong instead of showing Kiyoi who was supposed to be trying to talk Hira in to becoming his boyfriekd by now.

I wonder what that scene is going to be about. I am really hoping it's not some sort of weird " You have to protect Hira" or "I leave him to you" something cliche like that. Koyama and Kiyoi simply don't have a good relationship and Koyama actually doesn't like giving up Hira at all. If they change that to make Koyama sound angsty for no reason , then it's all pointless. I don't know . Just my two cents since Koyama's treatment this episode left a bad taste in my mouth.

Do you guys think Koyama will stay as persuasive as he was in Drama CD? He didn't crash Hira's house with the camera crew this time did he? Are we going to get the part with Koyama being sick? Guys I am sorry but I am starting to dislike Koyama mainly because he is literally stealing important movie scenes from Kiyoi and Hira that belings to them and not to Koyama. What's the point of him in those last minutes of ep 5? Seriously this series is too short and they decide to give their precious time to Koyama for no reason.

What bothers me is that I fear people will never understand how flawed Hira actually is . Hira's POV doesn't highlight his flaws . Kiyoi's POV does. When we see Hira rejecting Kiyoi even after Kiyoi works so hard on his pride to confess to him you will understand how wrong Hira is and how much years of bullying has affected him as a person.

When they remove what I feel is very important to understand Hira and Kiyoi's characters for a Koyama fan service moment which isn't going to lead to anything, I can't stop feeling dissatisfied.

I was really looking forward to people finally understanding how flawed Hira actually is and why Hira and Kiyoi couldn't even be in a relationship even after Kiyoi's confession. Hira seriously needs a reality check and I swear if they don't show it in the next episode I wouldn't be able to express my disappointment. At least let Kiyoi tell Hira that he is not a god to be worshipped and he is human! That's the least they can do after this episode

Am I the only one who didn't like the additional Koyama and Hira interaction in this episodes instead of paying attention to what Kiyoi was supposed to do and how he was supposed to grow.

In the drama CD , Kiyoi and Hira start living together and have a sexual relationship but Kiyoi gets fed up with Hira's behavior . Hira keeps telling him that they are not boyfriends but Kiyoi is his king. Kiyoi then ends up finding the courage to finally confess to Hira and Hira (who doesn't understand because his self esteem is too low) ends up sort of rejecting him unintentionally which is the reason why Kiyoi leaves his house.

This annoying Koyama drama is pointless. We should be getting that Kiyoi development instead. We should be getting that Kiyoi confession so that the audience can understand how bad Hira's self esteem issues are since people love to pretend Kiyoi is the source of every problem they have

What's the point of giving Koyama too much screen time and removing Kiyoi's? Koyama isn't a love interest. He isn't the one we should be following. What's the point of him getting too much attention for no reason?

First of all I love Kiyoi as a character so much. He is very interesting and entertaining to watch.

Second of all , there is no freaking "gun violence" in the show, just say that you don't like the show and move on 'cause if you have a problem with sight of a gun in this show but you would gladly watch a thousand other shows with actual violence and gun fight (which utsukushii kare never had) then you are a hypocrite. Just leave. This is so ridiculous. I never see people complaining about guns in any other TV series even those that are not action movies and aren't supposed to have guns but when it comes to this show you guys go all crying mod because how dare they show an imaginary gun that shoots something like glitter. I know for a fact that this is not a general reaction to guns in movies and non of you care seeing it in other movies(or if you do you don't complain about it on other comment sections 'cause I read comments in many movies) you guys are only complaining because it's utsukushii kare.

Third of all, how many times does Hira have to tell Kiyoi how much he likes him and wants to even kiss his hand to make you guys realize it's consensual? And I still think you guys are being hypocritical at this point. Non of you are bothered about Hira being a stalker but you are bothered by Kiyoi. I'm starting to understand that you guys just have a bias against Kiyoi or usukushii kare and don't actually bother to understand what the freak is going on. Just because Hira has social problems doesn't mean you can blame Kiyoi for things he didn't do. It's not his responsibility.

The kiss secene was weird but not out of ordinary because 1_It was supposed to be weird 2_ non of them knew what was happening also 3_ It's always and I mean always been Hira who does creepy stuff like masturbation to a photo and telling Kiyoi he wants to kiss him . So how does Kiyoi kissing him when he said he likes to kiss him and even kissed his hands multiple time is bad?
Also you got to realize one thing that Japanese don't have the same culture as west specially when it comes to portraying kisses.

Either way half of the problems I am sering in the comments are full of hypocrisy and prejudice against the show. This show is dark? What do you even consider dark, Insecure teenagers?

Also regarding the bullying, Kiyoi is just as insecure as others but he is not the bad guy here. He even helped Hira against the other guys (which resulted him to get bullied)

Either way it doesn't matter because this is not how the relationship is going to be by the end anyways. And characters and relationships will change completely. So can you guys at least try to leave and let the rest of us enjoy this "dark, unhealthy series full of rape and gun violence?" (Because that's how someone would feel like reading some of comments)

Honestly I can't understand , do you guys hate having flawed characters who have character growth? Do you guys prefer a show where the 2 mains are as nice as possible with minimalistic growth? Genuinely asking because I believe this show is a lot better than some dramas out there that I've seen with better ratings.

Don't want to talk too much because I don't want to get in to an argument but I am liking Kiyoi more and more. You guys can say whatever you like I don't care.

I'm just going to say that , I can't see it the way you do. Kiyoi may not be the nicest person but I don't see it as "bullying Hira" or forcing him to do something he doesn't want to or defending Hira to gain control over him . To me it's much more simple but since we don't have Kiyoi's thoughts on this we wouldn't know.

I think the difference between me and you is that you imagine a scenario when you think if Hira didn't like Kiyoi he would've been miserable but to me , I think if that was the case then Kiyoi wouldn't have used Hira in the first place. Hira made it awfully clear that he likes Kiyoi from the start.

OK now I'm offended. First of all , who do you think you are talking about me as a person or my experience with bullying? Yes I've been bullied . It's unfortunately far more common than you think . Telling others that you've been bullied doesn't give you the right to call people bullies out of a disagreement over fiction and fictional characters.

When I was bullied , I
1- Couldn't talk back to my bullies out of fear.
2- I Hated it
Hira did get bullied in this series but I don't see it coming from Kiyoi. Literally Hira loves it and he has talked to Kiyoi more than he did with anybody in the entire show . Now if you disagree then it's on you but don't go around insulting people and talking nonsense based on what you don't know about them and disguise your behavior as defending people who have been bullied .

Don't get me wrong , I am not trying to pick sides here , I am merely talking about how I felt watching this episode in comparison to the reaction I saw from others. I don't see the "bullying" part as much as others.

You are telling me that if Kiyoi was a good person he would treat Hira like a classmate and not a delivery boy but I don't see more than him just asking Hira for something (and then giving him his number) Hira is not exactly an ordinary person you can just get close to. He is way too self conscious and hard to talk to. Unfortunately , this episode was mainly from Hira's POV so we wouldn't know what Kiyoi is actually thinking when it comes to Hira.

OK so I've been reading the comments out of boredom and I find it funny how my experience with this episode was different from most of you.

I am seeing most people calling Kiyoi a bully for no reason other than calling Hira gross and very few are calling Hira out.
Do people not care about Kiyoi because he doesn't narrate the story or doesn't have confidence issues? Because from what I've seen so far Kiyoi is far from abusive specially considering the fact that it's clear as day that Hira likes doing favors for Kiyoi and Kiyoi probably knows.

Hira's reaction towards the guy who told him to clean up was very telling in comparison to how he reacts to Kiyoi and Kiyoi knows it and defended him against that guy as well. At one point Hira even told Kiyoi that he would rather die than betray Kiyoi and tell his secrets. Do you guys think Kiyoi is bullying him ? He never forced Hira to do anything! How is that bullying when Hira is super willing and he shows it clearly to Kiyoi. I'm pretty sure bullying has some sort of "unwillingness" involved .

The worst thing Kiyoi has done is calling Hira gross and if I were him , I would've called him gross as well. I don't see anything wrong with calling people out for what they are and Hira IS gross considering all of his actions. If I see a coward or a sour loser I would call them out as well. Don't you guys think it's weird for a total stranger to watch you sleep and then call you pretty afterwards? That's what happened the first time Kiyoi called him gross. The second time was when Hira took his picture without Kiyoi paying attention after stalking him to his dance class. Kiyoi ended up calling him annoying . Seriously am I missing something here? Because I'm not seeing the bad side of Kiyoi as much as I am seeing the bad or rather creepy side of Hira.
