Why did Hwal kill everyone with a sword when he was the original BGSL. Weren't his talons enough? 😂And i don't…
This also strengthens my assumption that he saved Bulgalady. Although he did have a bit of blood on his face and lips, which signifies he bit a few people, he would never have used a sword if he was truly a monster and just wanted to drink blood. He wouldn't have attacked an entire village too just to drink blood. That's overeating even by a Bulgasal's standard haha. He was possibly fighting tens of people alone, so he killed them by any means necessary, biting, talons and swords and knives.
Here's my theory on why Hwal isn't a bad Bulgasal.
Before suspecting Hwal as the bad guy, let's connect a few dots. So far in this show, we've had four flashbacks from 1000 years ago.
1) Sang Un showing Hwal flashbacks of a cheerful Bulgalady in episode 3/4. 2) Eul Tae killing his brother and accusing Bulgalady of the murder. 3) Eul Tae asking BulgaHWAL to make him immortal and BulgaHWAL stealing Eul Tae's soul. 4) Sang Un seeing Hwal as the monster in the latest episode.
Let's connect the dots now.
Flashback 1) proves that Hwal and Bulgalady weren't enemies but companions, also proved by the painting in Eul Tae's house. If Bulgalady hated BulgaHWAL, why would she save him twice 600 years ago?
2 and 4) Eul Tae told his father that Bulgalady killed his younger brother. Which means the father and the rest of the villagers ambushed Bulgalady to try and kill her as revenge. Sang Un's recent memory could be her getting ambushed, but very out of context. Bulgalady was lying on the floor bloodied up as Hwal was revealed to be the "villain". This makes me believe that Hwal, in fact, saved Bulgalady from the villagers and killed them all in rage, but since Sang Un only recalled parts of her memory, Hwal looked like the bad guy.
Bulgalady did stab BulgaHWAL but it was a fragile attack. She had a "Did you really have to do it, babe?" look on her face because she didn't like hurting or killing people. Angry at BulgaHWAL killing the villagers, Bulgalady ababdoned him.
3) Eul Tae was probably watching everything from nearby and attacked a heartbroken BulgaHWAL once Bulgalady left or cursed him, which forced Hwal into committing an error he should never have had, which is stealing a human soul to become human, because he wanted to become mortal and die.
I refuse to believe that Eul Tae killing his brother and Hwal killing villagers in front of Bulgalady are two different scenarios. They are interlinked. All flashbacks are like pieces of puzzle in my opinion.
Don't mind the ratings, people don't normally rate thrillers highly because they are complicated and uncomfortable. Most people watch dramas to relax and escape from their tough everyday lives. Romance/Rom Coms/Fantasy dramas get better ratings because there are very few plot twists and they are simple to grasp and are cheerful.
I like Thrillers more, but that's just me, and I must say Through The Darkness is an AMAZING show, and a must watch for people who love the crime/mystery genre.
Nam Gil is fantastic as Ha Young. It's so refreshing to see a detective who's very calm, intuitive, extremely smart, humble, and kind, but isn't all perfect, and has his fears and insecurities. You never see him scream even in situations where normal people would. He's cool as ice and knows how to make people talk, and not let their maniac behavior get to him. The character is very well written. He's the perfect guy to be a profiler.
I hope more people will watch this in the coming weeks.
But I seriously want somone to get hurt (inside the dorm ofc)Does it make me look bad ?
Not really. It would be really unrealistic if everyone has a happy ending. But let's pray that nobody close to Young Ro gets hurt. She's suffered enough.
I hereby offer Boon Ok and Comrade Joo as a sacrifice.
At this point, I feel like Kang Moo and Ha Na are the Male and Female leads, while So Hoo and Young Ro are second leads/supporting characters.
On a side note, I hope Kang Chung Ya manages to escape and find a safe path for the rest of her comrades. She's too smart to let Kang Moo dictate her. I understand where Kang Moo is coming from, but I really don't want anyone in the dorm to get hurt or end up behind the bars.
Rest assured, Switzerland still existed in the 1980s so North and South couples still have a chance.
I loved Mouse and now it makes sense why I like Bulgasal as well. The twists!!
The main leads are the same too, if Sang Un's memory holds true.
Both MLs are former psychopath/monsters, who lost their memory and became good guys, but their memory comes back to their disbelief and shock. They cant believe they have done horrible things in the past because they are good in present.
Ba Reum got the brain transplant, Hwal got the soul transplant. Will their end be the same too?
was it ‘her’ one-sided love or ‘his’ one-sided love? i must’ve understood the subs wrong because i thought…
She even saved Hwal as a kid, and then saved him from getting killed with his family 600 years ago by Eul Tae, who was after his soul. Girl has been selflessly protecting him for 10 centuries but for WHAT.
was it ‘her’ one-sided love or ‘his’ one-sided love? i must’ve understood the subs wrong because i thought…
Eul Tae said that Hwal was the one who loved Bulgalady, but it was one-sided, but Eul Tae is a pathological liar, so I suspect it's the opposite. Bulgalady was the good Bulgasal who was in love with Hwal, the bad Bulgasal. But of course, nothing's 100 percent accurate. Wonder what twist the next episodes bring.
What a DAEBAK twist. BulgaHWAL played the victim all along, but he was the real perpetrator. No wonder everyone he was with suffered. Those BulgaHWAL vibes must have been toxic, and it's no surprise his children weren't normal. His hybridization didn't work lol.
#JusticeForBulgalady. She's suffered for 1000 years because of her one-sided love (as said by Eul Tae). I know Eul Tae talked about Hwal when he said it but he always says the opposite, just like he did in episode 11. "Yo Hwal, you asked me to turn you into Bulgasal".
I know Hwal's a good person after his most recent incarnation, but the least he should do is protect Sang Un (and the others) to save face, even if it leads to his death.
Lee Kang Moo is going to be the winningest character by the time Snowdrop ends. Judging by his character and persona, he'll expose the political scheme, the ANSP, and then jail all of the spies, maybe bar So Hoo, who will escape to North and get imprisoned there. He'd probably have the "romantic happy ending" with Ha Na by also, and let me tell you one thing, he's been a total BITCH to Ha Na. She can literally DIE for him, but he still puts her in horrible scenarios.
Dude has zero feelings whatsoever. A professional through and through lol.
After episode 10, outside of the dorm is North Korea and South Korea, whereas inside of the dorm is United States of Korea. I don't mind. It was a heartwarming episode.
