Am I the only one that can't understand why Hong Ju likes Hu Yeong? The flashbacks didn't help sell it for me…
I think flashbacks showed that they had a strong connection after that night, especially with the heartbeat scene of Hong Ju. Before that connection turned into liking for Hong Ju, Hu Yeong left. Also, back then, he was her best friend's crush, so she didn't want to see him from that perspective. Once he returned and started flirting with her, she started to feel things like she did a decade ago.
Hye Ji lied because Hu Yeong liked Hong Ju from the beginning. There was no point in going after Hu Yeong. So, if she told Hong Ju that she was already in a relationship with someone, Hong Ju wouldn't feel any guilt in considering Hu Yeong. It worked because once Hong Ju separated Hu Yeong from Hye Ji, she started falling for him.
It was a good drama. The basic premise was fun and comedy was done well. But the romance and thriller part lacked. The whole serial killer plot was too boring. Actors did their job. Under another director, this could have been a better drama.
The writing for this drama reminds me of older Korean dramas where they made one of the main characters intentionally too dumb/unlikable and tried to create a lot of annoying situations.
They really got me fooled with the culprit. I went from the old man with the crutches to the new old man/hospital…
I had suspicions on the old lady since the old man with crutches disappeared. He was asking her to spend time with her. Might have followed her and saw something suspicious.
