ML seems so desperate for the FL to love him omgg it was to the point that I thought he was obsessed. .. eps 1-7…
Thank god someone feels the same way i am. ML is way too creepy/obsessed for me 6 episodes in. He is in a way forcing her to love him by guilt tripping her or emotionally acting all nice to her by overly physical gimmicks like holding her hands, hugging her... I mean why not give her the space till she grows out of her past love & trauma & why can't he just wait??? because he already knows she likes another guy & is not over it fully yet.? duh..
I am 6 episodes in & want to take a break, coz ML is making me uneasy with the way he is kinda obsessed with FL..?? I do feel also the vibes that he is doing it to protect her or something due to his own trauma which is not revealed yet maybe but at the same time it feels very creepy or stalkish the way he is behaving around her... My personal issue with him so far: He already knows she had a past love , trauma & is not yet over it. He also knows she didn't marry him for love but i feel irked by the fact an adult man is not letting her grow out of it naturally but instead keeps following her, stalking her, getting physical at every chance...It feels like he simply wants her to love him back at any cost by guilt tripping her being all emotionally too nice to her rather than it looking like genuine attempts to make her love him..... The desperation he shows for her to love him back is so cringey for me. Sorry.
So can someone please tell me he gets better from here or has a very valid reason to be acting like that so I can confidently continue this...Or is this just an Anti Hero ML show with grey shades, then i would totally dig his current behavior tbh.... I am asking for a spoiler now itself coz I just don't want to be disappointed later expecting something else š
Half way through I was wondering why this show had less ratings because i was really enjoying it & then about 11/12 episode in, I finally get why. The ML is pretty unlikeable as show goes on if you think realistically. Like he literally killed someone even though he was forced to drive when he was drunk. He is a grown adult & he could have refused by any means. So the FL trauma was all justified & this guy even after the FL learnt the truth, didn't apologise to her properly & kept trying to sway her. It felt pretty shameless for me. The way he kept running to her, trying to kiss her etc all felt shamelessness peak coz he hadn't apologised properly to her, nor did anything significant as . The way this show tried to whitewash a drunk and drive crime as just accident was horrible. I mean FL's friend seemed a far better option for her although he is a bit pushy. So FL finally forgiving him & getting back to him was just unbelievably stupid. So yeah, totally get the rating
That final scene of ep1 , we have probably seen gazillion times & kdrama directors still think it's some heart…
Reg ML... have seen couple of past works from him & he is a pretty decent actor for me but boy, here he is a complete miscast for sure. He is more suitable to play secondary roles imo. Not ML material for me. Doesn't have that charisma to pull it off
That final scene of ep1 , we have probably seen gazillion times & kdrama directors still think it's some heart fluttering shit in big 2026. ... That utter cringefest cliche scene as usual where ML suddenly appears & saves FL by taking her away and running lmfaoo. * FML* . Jesus... Besides that very meh acting, terribly poor dialogues & overall totally subpar episode. I don't even have a single convincing element from ep1 to continue this. So have to drop it sadly.
Btw Yeon woo girl, do you even realise how good you are? It hurts me to see her choose such mediocre projects :/
SML clinging like this would have made sense atleast if the girl wasn't pregnant or if the baby daddy was neglecting the FL or in some way distressing or torturing her. When none of that is true here, it's utterly despicable & extremely gross the way the SML has been behaving ever since he learnt she got pregnant like throwing himself right in her face again and again.... Why are you so desparate to be a step- father when the biological dad is very much in the picture ?? What kind of fetish is this? Like yuck, I wanna throw up... duh
It seems in the novel, Qiao Hai Lun has a very tragic end. Apparently she passes away due to being overworked. So ML used her & left her dry. FL eventually gets together with Deng yue in the very end & they plan to start a company together. So far the adaptation has been somewhat faithful to the novel but not sure yet if this is how the ending would be coz she still doesn't trust dong yue fully obviously & hasn't divorced from her husband til ep 19 atleast, so with just 5 episodes to go. I wonder if they will fastrack this plot coz only on ep19 teaser they have reached the part where Qiao Hai Lun is exhausted from overworking. I guess 20/21 must be her death.. that will create the scandal for ML.... And maybe the end of series, they will show FL move on with Dong yu but as of ep19 it seems she still doesn't trust him fully, so wonder how they will show them get together in just 5 episodes... likely just some hint in the very end. That's my rough guess as to what to expect in next episodes.
Honest question guys, can you really tolerate this kind of pathetic ML? omg, I am just so annoyed at this useless guy fr. Wen pei yan dodged a damn bullet. Weāre 20 episodes in and the manchild still hasnāt grown a backbone when it comes to his mom. He finally realizes how messed up & evil she is, yet he continues arguing in lowercase like a muppet. And now, ofc, weāre heading straight into some predictable sympathy arc with a medical condition or whatever.
Yeah, sure theyāre endgame obviously but the FL deserves so much better than this sorry excuse for a man with no backbone. Honestly, she should have just told the kid the truth, dragged the ML to court to sue his ass for what they did to her, taken full custody of the kid and left his pathetic ass alone forever. I wouldāve actually loved to see that version play out ngl & that's far more 'mature' than whatever crap the director is going for here.
Cue: I am not saying FL is any better coz none of it is realistic from her side either. I mean if I had known my kid was alive for so many years whom I thought was dead, I would have waged war to get back at those evil scums but she was still non chalant about this whole thing. I mean I understand they were going for that mature tone but boy, you don't have to overdo it this way lol. But regardless I still think she was a victim all in all coz of a spineless ML & hate that she got back with him even before he did anything significant for all she suffered. Duh End of rant. haha
Such an underrated gem of a show. Absolutely love how they have seamlessly integrated romance into it while not making it a distraction & flow well with the actual story of them pursuing their dreams in law. Absolute Banger of a show so far. I cannot stress enough how the main couple is incredibly gorgeous both on looks & their acting. Like you see those two on screen & instantly feel butterflies in your stomach. And my god, the little micro expressions they both do with their faces, just insanely good. And in recent episodes Yan fei /Zhou dynamics are so captivating too. Cannot wait for their romance to kick off now.
I think even if he is seducing her, the undertones are still there. Which is why I also agree itās not vibing.…
Tell me about it. I was so excited after the trailers assuming the kisses we saw were all so fire, steamy etc & was looking forward to it so bad. Now imagine the disappointment after seeing that some of those kisses were actually of such disgusting predatory invasion of ML into FL's space, i am completely thrown off. It's such a pity coz I love michelle :/
I've been looking forward to this drama a lot but I had the same reaction, ML is not exactly likable, definitely…
Right? I love my noona romances but only when it's done well. I was shocked how they were casually showing the predatory behavior of ML as romantic. Yuck
Yeah I did not like that scene too. It was so forced and unnecessary. Will give it more eps though for Michelle.
I love her so much too & that's why I was only conflicted after 3 episodes & was hoping to not see such forceful nonsense afterwards. But after watching 4 & 5 previews, it just doesn't sit well with me at all. It's just way too crass for me to handle :/
Yeah you can without moral policing people. Are you that slow to get that? Lol, obviously you don't get the difference if this is your supposed 'clapback' lmfao š
Not only is it super rapey, but just something about the MLs face I cannot stand. I cannot see him as the protagonist…
He is a good actor. But misfit here for sure & doesn't give ML vibes unfortunately. The way they have written his character so disgustingly doesn't help his case either. I mean, I genuinely cannot believe the preview for episode 5. That's utterly crass
So finished episode four and I donāt think heās really drunk. I think heās starting to play a little game…
Lol, and youāre over here lecturing people for feeling disgusted by whatās on their screen while youāre busy enjoying and glorifying literal sexual harassment. Youāre kind of pathetic and I hope youāre aware of it ngl š
I mean you are free to enjoy whatever content you want, nothing wrong with that. But the moment you start moral policing others for finding the same behavior disgusting, it becomes hilarious. Youāre literally celebrating an ML acting like a pest in the FLās life and constantly forcing himself into her space so sheāll eventually ārealizeā her feelings. Thatās a gross & utter filthy plot for most viewers, except maybe for a few ten year olds who just started watching dramas So you are in no position to sermon people on what content they can post here.
Lol, why tf do you think you have the right to curate what people can say here? someone can watch every damn episode & still criticize if they don't like it. Stop trying to play moral police on public content lmao
Always enjoy a well written age gap drama but no, I didnāt get that vibe here at all. Completely awkward &…
Oh boy, I think Iām dropping this after the previews coz trust me, it's not even about age gap at all but utter gross behavior being normalised as romantic. What on earth are episodes 4 and 5 supposed to be from previews? The ML is honestly disgusting. He gets drunk again, hides behind it as an excuse, goes to her apartment once again and once more forces himself on her. And weāre supposed to find that steamy or enjoyable? Absolutely not. I was really excited for that kiss scene from the trailers but now it just looks like yet another drunk, inappropriate, forced, literal sexual harassment being passed off as some romantic nonsense no matter what history they had before. And why does he keep showing up at the FLās place wasted every time when they are not even in a relatiosnhip or anything & met her after years? Are we supposed to enjoy this forceful nonsense where he keeps forcing & invading himself into FL's life till she admits her feelings? ML is so freakin gross & unbearable for me. wow.
Like that's sexual harassment & grooming undertones on your screen and somehow some gutterbrains in the comments are still calling it āromanticā while telling us not to post anything negative & telling us to yeet off the page if we don't like it. Uhmm okay... Like sorry for not worshipping some degenerate content, my bad lol šš
Always enjoy a well written age gap drama but no, I didnāt get that vibe here at all. Completely awkward & cringe. That drunk scene where he just forcefully kissed her (history or not) really threw me off. I donāt know why some Chinese directors still romanticize & fetishize over this kind of drunken excuse for such crass behavior as if itās normal. Itās literally sexual harassment and that's jail time despite whatever history you might have with that person. How hard is it to write scenes in a way that avoids grooming undertones or awkward cringe shit like this so we can just enjoy the beautiful leads and their chemistry (coz let's not lie, they look gorgeous af together) without all the side eye stuff ? Both actors are good looking & decent actors, which is why I actually want to keep watching but scenes like that really tests your patience ngl⦠sigh š¤¦āāļø
she did cut his call and I think she stood her ground byt keep in mind this dude is annoying and is persistent,…
I understood your point already but that's pretty much the context of what I said. In a 12 ep fictional story, you cannot have your FL way too passive half way mark. It's not about doing a 180, that's why there are 6 episodes for her to show growth & that's a lot of episodes in a 12 ep show. It's limited time, yes but a good screenwriter should have ways to work it out. Like I said, that's how I see it. You are free to disagree :)

Yeah but that's also the point I was making right? So when the show started, we knew she was always forgiving type despite him being an Ahole in their relationship. So by ep6, they should have made her character more assertive & strong against that guy specifically. Keeping her still passive half way through wasn't a bright choice from screenwriter is my point basically coz it gives a wrong notion that she didn't learn nothing after 6 eps. I mean I think people would have enjoyed the ep 6 way more if she was a bit more assertive than what was shown. But that's my pov.
