Yeah totally, ML is literally apologising to FL in EP25 preview for his nasty ass behavior towards her just coz his petty jealousy ego couldnt tolerate that she was getting close with SML but a supposed mature old man lashed out at her instead of handling it objectively. Come on now, you are just defending for the heck of it coz you probably love the dude playing ML. Like i said, that's not an issue at all coz I firmly believe in to each his own. But please don't come finding fault in my view for finding the ML unlikeable. I find him repulsive af so far. So do many chinese fans themselves in their socials. So i am not alone with this view. My original comment literally says' yet in upcoming episodes' but you have written all of that which makes me think that you either haven't seen the previews & my original context clearly. I have clearly said, i literally liked how it started out the mature way from ML & that's what you have pointed out so far. Something that i had already acknowledged in my original comment & subsequent comments to other user above. It's just that things are going down the drain with immature petty plots in upcoming episodes which totally ruins general audience from rooting for him. So he is pretty unlikeable so far & it gets worse in next episodes. Ofcourse they will try to redeem him later but it is what it is so far for me & I am not changing my view of his unlikeableness. But ofcourse you are free to disagree if you want to. To each his own.

Yes, obviously. If two people are not in official relationship, them sleeping with others is no problem at all. Even if they have conflicted feelings. Your brain is just so wired seeing those age old trope of MLs & FLs being virgins for years where physical relationship is allowed only between ML-FL & cannot even handle FL simply kissing SML even though she is not in relationship with ML yet.. let alone having sex with someone else. Ya'll just want your MLs & FLs to be physical only with each other.. But expecting that in a freaking middle aged couple drama where both the leads aren't virgins is hilarious. Hence my comment. I wanted mature romance here but instead they got middle aged leads acting like fresh out of college guys with some petty romantic plot & jealousy etc instead of proper communication between grown adults who are attracted to each other now after failed relationships.. duh

My rant was coz it surely doesn't get better based on previews. It seems FL gets drunk with SML & spends the night in SML's room although she was just sleeping. You can see ML talking down on her , yelling at her due to some petty jealousy ( I mean even for argument sake, they are not even in a relationship yet, so FL is free to sleep with whomsoever she wants.. he has no business to get jealous over it & shame her for it when he himself was cozying up with his ex) instead of objectively dealing it, trying to enquire what had happened & advise her with open communication like a grown adult that she shouldn't be engaging in such behavior during work hours etc. Writing such cheap scenes for the middle aged leads feels artificial & cringey. Going for a more mature characterization for ML would have elevated the show so high imo.. So my score will drop too for sure. But I will finish it too xD

Sorry for the rant coz I am just annoyed that this could have been easily a mature romance masterpiece I was craving for....I was confident it was going to be this proper mature romance plot route where leads grow slowly together with proper communication between them & maturity in handling things objectively while they grow close together tbh.. But then they added those accidental kisses, ML talking down the FL multiple times, petty jealousy scenes with exes & third parties esp.. for middle aged leads who are 51 & 41 IRL. Just so so out of place & cringey.. sigh

So, I don't know why on earth they would make wallace unlikeable once again. I thought we were done with that after the disastrous 'second chance romance'. I had hopes here coz they introduced his character as matured & objective, yet in upcoming episodes he is going after FL coz of some petty jealousy over her getting close with some guy. With the way his character was introduced, you would have expected him to objectively handle it with clear communication to FL, clearly ask her what happened & how to maturely handle it, but nah, they got him yell at her, talk down her etc.. And the way he doesn't even draw distance with his ex while having grown affection for FL as well.. Honestly it's disgusting characterization once again & totally ruins our experience to root for his character with FL. I can now totally see why in chinese socials people are actually shipping FL with the SML instead of ML.. Sigh. ( I am not lying, you guys can see for yourself in weibo, tiktok etc lol)

Btw this is only in regards to the ML character . It's not like FL character is written well either. Too much of a doormat behavior for several episodes now. It's pretty tiresome.

my dear friend, I am so sorry, but that is where i disagree. It's called emotional guilt tripping in my book. He was coming after her way too strong since the boat scene. Let it be he loved her since childhood but she never reciprocated that romantically atleast & he knows it too. So a grown adult man would have given her the space to sort her thoughts about him after getting rejected (this is where i tink a backstory or trauma past can help clear that he isn't a normal person but we don't know yet at this point). But he tried falling in water gimmick, showing the paper bit to her.. it was so crass & desperate guilt tripping for me... "Like girl, I am so much better option for you.. please marry me..." . keeps bothering her one way or other coming off as too desperate in the hospital being too nice to her which forced FL to think marriage is better for her to overcome the trauma etc...That drunk scene in the car was my breaking point where he says you still don't love me (when he knowingly married her despite knowing she doesn't love him yet), & then gets physical. This is emotional guilt tripping at the highest level you would see because FL is bound to doubt herself coz she agreed to the marriage & making him feel unloved. That's not a nice thing. I would have liked had he given her the space to love him back naturally & not her loving him after this forced subtle emotional guilt tripping throughout. Like i said, you don't have to agree with me but for me whatever he did until episode 7 is Emotional manipulation via guilt tripping at it's finest. But like we already clarified, there has to be a backstory that gives justice to this behavior but until I see that, for me it will remain emotional guilt tripping whatever he has done with her so far although he is a nice guy. I hope it's a strong one otherwise I would be very unconvinced

It's coz the synopsis ruined us I think 😂 It would have been far easier to root for the ML or atleast try to understand his desperateness towards FL without us starting the show knowing her EX was on an undercover mission which already means he distanced himself from her to protect her.

Because this way we would have kept guessing if SML was really on undercover or if he really went astray & got evil etc. That way this entire phase where FL starts to fall for ML despite him being corny or weirdly desperate for her love could have been very intriguing wrt their romance without any 2ML syndrome.

I didn't forget, my friend. See, even the marriage, he schemed his way to subtly force her to agree by emotionally being all nice. That deliberate slip into the water after she rejected his proposal, showing the paper to her about why he was better for her... Then all that too nicey behavior to her in the hospital etc... all these were just emotional guilt tripping a person who already has a trauma from love... Like the dude was all over her every move in life & which makes me feel, she had no choice than to oblige for the marriage at the time... Even then he still dared to ask if she loved him, she still evaded the question by saying something else. So he knows she doesn't lvoe him yet keeps pushing her, guild trips her about not loving him in the car after being drunk as an excuse, got physical even. Don't you think all these comes under emotional guilt tripping against a woman who already has trauma from past which he also knows? I am sorry, but these things made me very uncomfortable to say the least.

But like i said, this is how i felt without knowing any backstory about the ML after 7 episodes. Any normal person would feel the same seeing his obsessive behavior towards FL so far. Which is why i asked if they have a strong justification coming later to atleast make us think , Okay he had is fair share of trauma or reasoning that made him like this towards FL & can try to root for him. 7 episodes in, I really don't like him for FL coz he is way too creepy towards her for my liking. That's just my view. You are okay to disagree :)

Correct. I mean i think it would have been easier to root for the ML atleast if we were not spoiled by the synopsis that her ex wasn't undercover. Since we know he probably went undercover to find out secret about her bro's death & distanced himself to protect her, with ML having beef with him sine childhood & being obsessed with her makes it all way too hard to root for him lol

same. I feel so uneasy about him after 6 episodes.. His obsessive tendencies towards FL was very uncomfortable to watch for me... But very good to know they have proper justification coming up later. Otherwise i would have felt betrayed

Thank god someone feels the same way i am. ML is way too creepy/obsessed for me 6 episodes in. He is in a way forcing her to love him by guilt tripping her or emotionally acting all nice to her by overly physical gimmicks like holding her hands, hugging her... I mean why not give her the space till she grows out of her past love & trauma & why can't he just wait??? because he already knows she likes another guy & is not over it fully yet.? duh..
