Yeah, the ML even had a dialogue in today's episode where he tells FL on her face that SML doesn't really consider her that important or else he would have already stormed his place to rescue her. The SML even gave up meeting her the moment queen called him for the meeting. So I do believe there is some truth to this spoiler. But yeah, SML is not as simple I guess. That's for sure.

I am not sure. So please don't take my word for it. People keep writing different things everywhere. I am just waiting for novel readers to confirm it haha

perspective matters I think. At that point she is still an enemy general who just tried to kill him & could very well be pretending about the amnesia. So the torture was the correct measure in an ideal scenario. It feels awkward or too much only coz we already know they are the ML & FL 😂

So, I saw somewhere that the one who really shot FL is Xia Jing shi himself & He doesn't really love her or atleast love her as much he loves the power. Is this true in the novel? So FL doesn't really have a love triangle with anyone else in the novel in that case?

The relationship chart is also confusing for these 3.
For FL & SML -> former superior - subordinate
And for ML & SML ->Arch-enemy turned love rival.

I mean for the direct relationship link to FL with SML, they don't hint any romantic link or even one sided admiration but suddenly the relationship link for SML with ML - he becomes a romantic rival. I am dead confused lol

Quite enjoyed the 6 episodes. I am hooked. Only wish they don't catch feelings so soon. It's already hinted by ep6. As we have seen from time and again, when leads get together so early, it's almost always gonna drag in middle. And this one is 38 episodes long as well. I hope they keep this enemy trope & cautious dynamics with the funny bickering between them for more episodes as it's very enjoyable to watch. I must say, Li Qin as always nailing it. Such a wonderful actress

Yeah, I mean at the end of the day, it really comes down to personal taste.. everyone enjoys different kinds of content, so I can’t judge them for that. But I do think it’s very important to call out these kinds of morally offbeat elements in shows, so people who might feel the same way don’t walk in blindly & end up just as grossed out by such creepy elements in the show like I just did. That’s why I ended up writing a whole rant about it, haha. Honestly, I was relieved to see someone else felt the same xD

Louder please. I was honestly surprised to see so many people giving this show a free pass like those offbeat short dramas where they don't care about the provocative plot but just happy to enjoy few steamy scenes, good intimacy & chemistry. Maybe the constant exposure & recent surge of those has shifted the moral perceptions coz my first reaction after few episodes was exactly what you said.

What surprised me even more is that hardly anyone seemed to find it disturbing in the comment section or reviews. I was totally fooled by the positive comments & started this only to get grossed out by ML's repulsive behavior right away. By midway through episode 6 I had to drop it only coz the ML’s behavior toward the FL was nothing short of morally disgusting and disturbing. No amount of their 'sizzling chemistry' can overshadow his creepy advances towards FL(sister in law) not just once but since the first time he saw her.

Good watch overall for me & as always trust BJT to deliver. But did anyone else feel that the FL acting wasn't that good at all? She was only good in those crying scenes otherwise felt so bland in all of her normal scenes. Like not expressive at all & just delivering dialogues without any emotion?? This is the first time seeing her so maybe it's just the character here. So cannot judge yet but just wanted to understand if anyone else felt the same way lol

Ok, 6 minutes into Episode 6 - DROPPED. Sorry to say, but ML is super CREEPY here. No matter how they develop or justify the romance in later episodes, whatever he is doing with FL in the initial episodes when nothing has been revealed is plain gross & tacky. Even my love for WJT couldn't stand his character here in the first 6 episodes. No hard feelings to others who enjoyed it though. It's always to each his own 👍( but such a tacky romance subplot is not for me)

Sure, that's precisely the reason why responded. So people know what they are getting into. Just coz you weren't weirded out by creepy ML behavior on the initial episodes doesn't mean it's correct or justified behavior. When giving information, it's better to give it properly with all details covered. Cheers

5 episodes in & I’m completely thrown off by how unnervingly infatuated the ML is on his supposed sister-in-law right away. The way he hovers with all those infatuated stares & keeps running after her is less romantic & more unsettling as it gave me major creeps. I’m used to these kinds of offbeat plots in short dramas but I never expected it in a mid-length one & esp with WJT in it.

Sure, I can already predict how they’ll eventually justify the romance with some twist about the late husband (probably the usual “he wasn’t really dead” or “he was a terrible person” angle yada yada) but at this stage when neither of them knows anything, the ML’s behavior feels wrong on every level. The way he straight up refused to call her 'sister' in very 2nd episode itself was creepy af. Yet keeps calling her “sister-in-law” all the while gazing at her every chance… it’s just plain tacky and uncomfortable 🤮

I’ll still give it a few more episodes because I really like WJT but the ML’s portrayal so far is a huge turn-off. I can’t stand these clingy, infatuated “lost puppy” types especially when the dynamic already involves a sister-in-law who’s grieving her husband (remember nothing is revealed at this stage so such gross ML behavior/stares is inexcusable at any cost). It leaves a sour taste & honestly, I’m struggling to root for this romance.

Had to write it up just after 5 episodes coz no one warned me of such a creepy start to the show below & I had to find it out the hard way... so just putting it out there so others who get weirded out by plots like this know what to expect :)

Your spoiler is very misleading. Sure, the part about the FL & ML not wronging the late husband was fine but you completely downplayed how off-putting the ML was in initial episodes. From the very start he was weirdly obsessed and the initial episodes honestly gave me such an ick of his infatuated stares at FL coz she is still supposed to be his SIL half brother or not. I’m pointing this out so others know what they’re getting into. Please don’t post misleading takes like this or at least word them more clearly.

Just started with EP1. So far so good. Reset introduced me to BJT. So it feels nostalgic to see him in a similar plot again lol

so basically bai jingting with yet another reset. I hope this will be as good as that one :)
