5 episodes in & I’m completely thrown off by how unnervingly infatuated the ML is on his supposed sister-in-law right away. The way he hovers with all those infatuated stares & keeps running after her is less romantic & more unsettling as it gave me major creeps. I’m used to these kinds of offbeat plots in short dramas but I never expected it in a mid-length one & esp with WJT in it.
Sure, I can already predict how they’ll eventually justify the romance with some twist about the late husband (probably the usual “he wasn’t really dead” or “he was a terrible person” angle yada yada) but at this stage when neither of them knows anything, the ML’s behavior feels wrong on every level. The way he straight up refused to call her 'sister' in very 2nd episode itself was creepy af. Yet keeps calling her “sister-in-law” all the while gazing at her every chance… it’s just plain tacky and uncomfortable 🤮
I’ll still give it a few more episodes because I really like WJT but the ML’s portrayal so far is a huge turn-off. I can’t stand these clingy, infatuated “lost puppy” types especially when the dynamic already involves a sister-in-law who’s grieving her husband (remember nothing is revealed at this stage so such gross ML behavior/stares is inexcusable at any cost). It leaves a sour taste & honestly, I’m struggling to root for this romance.
Had to write it up just after 5 episodes coz no one warned me of such a creepy start to the show below & I had to find it out the hard way... so just putting it out there so others who get weirded out by plots like this know what to expect :)
ML is really her brother-in-law (half), the FL's late husband was the ML's half-brother (different mothers).
Your spoiler is very misleading. Sure, the part about the FL & ML not wronging the late husband was fine but you completely downplayed how off-putting the ML was in initial episodes. From the very start he was weirdly obsessed and the initial episodes honestly gave me such an ick of his infatuated stares at FL coz she is still supposed to be his SIL half brother or not. I’m pointing this out so others know what they’re getting into. Please don’t post misleading takes like this or at least word them more clearly.
The ML’s behavior in those early episodes came across as straight-up creepy for me: constant staring, always running back to his supposed sister-in-law… it just felt tacky and uncomfortable 🤮
So based on today's episodes, I think we can already deduce that stella young is the same woman junik had an affair…
Also the kiss scene was beautifully done imo. Both characters were emotionally drained at that point & needed that release. Perhaps it could have been a bit more intimate but I guess that was probably not on cards since Jihyun is married IRL but honestly, it was already perfect as it was. The emotions, dialogues & buildup leading to that moment were captured very well.
That being said, honestly the diplomatic subplot doesn't really grab me at all tbh coz it felt like a bunch of random elements thrown together just to create the illusion of some looming disaster. But the dynamics between the leads is so captivating that it fades everything else in comparison for me
So based on today's episodes, I think we can already deduce that stella young is the same woman junik had an affair with. The age of their son is 9 years old which matches with what they said about stella entering korea 10 years ago & never left. So junik isn't the spy but she has been spying by getting close with him as a mission. Junik found out & hence put all his assets on munju's name before he got killed. Because it doesn't make sense he didn't leave anything for his son. Coz he knew munju would do the right thing by not leaving his son to dry despite the betrayal
Just finished finally. The show started way too good & it was very engrossing to the point I was completely hookedup. Midway was a complete borefest to the point of fast forwarding. It again picked up when he regained memories, ended up with an underwhelming last 2 episodes finish. 8.5 feels a bit inflated. Imo this is a 8/10 but that's only coz of the painful drag I felt in the middle. I guess it probably wouldn't have been felt for folks who watched it as it aired rather than watching it as a whole. Regardless, good entertainment factor overall. Solid watch
Removing the jade will also remove his memories and their special bond, so of course he’s hesitant to do it.…
Precisely my point about him coming across as selfish. He was more concerned about their memories & bond being lost than him being an actual threat to her life itself. The priorities? Also the way he was playing it off like nothing everytime moyin talked about it gave me a sever ick. I mean at first was ok but I was only annoyed when it started dragging for more episodes.
Just started watching this and I need to vent as I am at ep 21 now —the ML is pissing me off so much midway bro. Even after Mo Yin repeatedly told him he was a danger to the FL (which he already got a grasp of), he kept clinging to her & ignoring whatever mo yin advised, fully knowing he was causing her health to detoriate. Honestly, I wanted to slap him through the screen coz he is coming off strongly as an extremely selfish person at this point like always playing it off silly reg everything said by others to him. Hopefully some redemption soon coz I am starting to somewhat hate his character now ngl. Also him acting silly was fine at the start but after so many episodes & still acting silly is just jarring :/
Btw, from the trailer, there is a scene where ML - FL about to kiss & get intimate. I am totally sure there is a section of outrage brigade already ready with their guns to flood in with all that FL ‘moved on too soon' comments when that ep airs. I can feel it in my veins 😂
Sorry, I strongly object the choice of words here. Using words like 'polluting' when talking about people's faith…
So let me get this straight here, I point out that nearly a third of Koreans are of Christian faith which explains why it shows up in dramas & call you out your cheap behavior for using offensive remarks casually about other people's faith.. And your grand response is to scream ‘fundamental Christian' , throw in a random ‘math failure’ remark, exaggerate that all dramas only show churches & then flounce off with ‘I’ll block you' nonsense. That’s not even a debate coz that’s a full-on tantrum. Facts don’t magically become bias just coz they trigger you. If anything, your meltdown here says far more than my original comment ever could coz all I did was highlight demographics & call your crass choice of words while you turned it into insults and a meltdown. Spewing offensive digs at someone's faith & trying to justify it with lame bs like this makes you look retarded, not me lol. Even a layman reading your comment can deduce that.
Block all you want but the receipt stays here for everyone to see. I simply asked you to be a better person instead of posting offensive remarks about other people's faith coz of your own dislikes & projections which is simply rude & crass. . But thanks for outing yourself as a vile troll instead coz I didn’t even need to try. Take care

Well, if anything, you just proved my point.. You call it ‘one sided’ coz Christianity shows up yet ignore the fact that Christianity is practiced by nearly a third of Koreans. That’s not bias but a mere demographic reality & basic facts. How is christian faith being shown in dramas is putting down other's faith? You are literally spouting nonsense that makes no sense here. And dragging in Buddhism or ‘money to make dramas’ just shows you’re not objecting to storytelling, you’re objecting to one particular faith being visible at all. Which ironically is the very intolerance you tried to pin on the drama. Funny how the only ‘pollution’ here seems to be your bias leaking through. The drama reflects reality while your comments reflect prejudice & hate towards a faith. Having dislike is one thing but to use offensive terms to describe other people's faith is really low tier cheap behavior. I simply called out that
technical observation: this drama awfully looks like an ad for the catholic church and many polluting things...…
Sorry, I strongly object the choice of words here. Using words like 'polluting' when talking about people's faith is crass behavior. Do you realize that in Korea around 31% of the population are of Christian faith .. i.e basically almost a third of the whole country? How exactly is it “polluting” or an 'ad' if a drama reflects the faith of such a significant slice of society in some capacity? Across the 3 episodes, the church was simply a backdrop that added to the plot. I find it absurd & strange that you’d frame it in a way that puts down people of that faith so crassly coz what you mean by polluting?
You may not share that faith or believe in these things but that doesn’t give you a free pass to be dismissive or offensive toward those who do. You can always try framing your points without putting down people’s beliefs. Cheers
If Netflix had owned the rights to the drama, it would have gone through the roof. On Disney, K-dramas don’t…
Bro stop peddling your bloody imaginations as facts. Jesus. IMDB is your freakin source to peddle this narrative of not breaking even? Because of your really dumb assumption that imdb ratings was only 14k, so they didn't break even? I literally asked you for credible proof where it was mentioned that moving didn't recover their budget. That's a blatant lie because there is not a single piece of credible info in internet that suggests anything on this. So your assumption != facts. Stop posting imaginations as facts. That's why I called you out
Disney literally had a ~1.25 million subscription surge due to moving in Korea. You are basically embarrassing yourself at this point if you can't give me credible source to prove your point. I don't need to google or chatgpt lmao because it's you posting your assumptions as facts. I will wait till you give me a credible source link. Lol

No, wrong info. I don't know from where you got that. The producers literally gave an interview about moving changing their whole direction on Korean content. And can you stop posting things without any factual clarity? Because then it will come across as you just peddling fake narratives without any factual relevancy. There is not a single source of info indicating moving didn't break even. None of their producers have said a word about that till date. That's just bonkers you claim such things without any substance at all. Now I even doubt your original comment. So I'll have to check myself if what you said above is true as well.
I swear the ratings must have dropped due to that silly escape scene of ML from the bomb.. I mean ML must have titanium butt cheeks coz that bomb escape was straight-up cartoon physics .. With all that production value, they really thought we’d buy that? Could have easily done something more believable 😂
Anyway, jokes aside, this is actually the first Korean show in a while that’s had me hooked. I honestly don’t care about the ratings or plot anything coz the chemistry I felt from the leads is just too good to allow external factors influence me. Nothing overly romantic or intimate yet but that train scene where they switch seats? It was electric. That alone was enough to keep me watching till the very end
