One of the best war historical I have seen. I looked forward to each two episodes, I normally binge but I couldn't wait for it to finish. awesome final episode. Nice and tidy ending, not rushed. It has a little bit of everything. Even the romance was subtle. First time I have watched a place king who struggled to bed with more than one wife. Even though I was disgusted at his 1st wife he still kept her close due to her being part of his sad upbringing. In the last episode, I felt a Deja Vue like I had watched the scene of the general walking up to the soldiers to keep pushing ahead. Anyway, I know when I've watched a goodie, it is when I feel a bit empty and I start rampaging through similar dramas.

The fake princess looked so much older, her kisses were just plain fish lips not passionate at all, and her eyes and how they swivelled as a sneaky look put me right off. Bad bad choice of fake princess with fake acting.

Now that was the best two episodes. The best was when he saw it was his own wife in the temple next to him lols

As I watch more and more Chinese dramas I'm so glad I don't take the negative reviews as gospel. I loved this drama. The only thing I cringed at was the female lead still gasping at a kiss on the cheek from her husband after five years of marriage hahaha. I was disappointed to see the ML with the brothel girl for the FL to witness. I had almost been fooled that this couple was going to stay true to each other without breaking up or womanising etc. As he had proven himself to always believe her side of the story no matter what, he was really cruel doing that to her. I'm so glad she stuck it out refusing to talk or be with him. It looked like the brothel girl didn't affect her at all. AND.... both second leads in Love with the Mains were the worst unrequited love roles I have ever seen. Not even marriage stopped them. Even the emperor!! However, I don't think the FL deserved these hunks as she passed off as a way too thin girl with a flat chest and pouted so much she looked like a 10-year-old right throughout the drama. Romance with the kisses is boring. Who kisses with shut lips nowadays???

In the end, the ML ended up being the worst betrayer. How could he change his whole personality just like that? He sacrificed his friends. She ended up with no one. Even though the mains were still alive at the end, it was still very sad for the loss of so many of the team.

I have to finally admit there is no chemistry whatsover between the emperor and Amai. The palace scenes are so boring compared to the battlefields. The emperor just dosent think hes done anything wrong towards Amai at all.

Oh goshhhhhh the king just pisses me off how he's always forgiving of the empress, him and his low sickly talking voice every time he talks to her. She is absolute venom and gosh I could punch her snotty nose a few times!!!! I have a love/hate for the king. He always gets easily swayed. Poor Lady Kim. She is the most humble, sane loving royal member in that whole palace. I will be so disappointed if she does not get taken back to the king as in real life she was the mother of two future kings. Cracks me up because it shows the King not willing to sleep with anyone other than one wife yet in real life he has over a dozen queens and consorts!!!!! The coup is also not based on a true story!!!

Hyping up now!!! I hope the queen gets deposed after this. Good job thought she was being the tough one lols Emperor being a bit of a cruel dude to the new consort, spending alot of time with her, its been over a year and still wont make babies with her.

No chemistry whatsoever. She doesn't look at him with love in her eyes. Has played the male role for so long that it seems she's starting to believe she is a male. Would be a waste if she does become an empress as she is so good as a general.

Yes, but if you can consider that he was put on the throne at such a young age and had been living as a monk for such a long time (factual history) to then be the leader of so many seasoned ministers who had next to no respect for him due to his age and inexperience. They continually defy him until he breaks and changes his mind to what they want. What strength he could grasp onto to survive was the guidance from Gam Cham who became like a father to him, so understandingly the King reacted as a child would when scolded.

Ohhhh this drama was so refreshing!! No love triangle (had admirers though they weren't troublesome) The mother inlaw changed just after one incident (didn't stay horrible throughout the drama, ML stayed faithful to the FL and vice versa. No breakup, just one small incident but no biggie. The love they showed each other throughout the drama was so beautiful. Love the snooker games, was a great change to other games that are common in dramas.

Oh man what pisses me right off is that stupid grudge they hold against him when he was just a kid!!!!! Her mother is horrible!!!!!! Who cried when he bowed to his old coach. Though Im very disappointed at her always hiding him.

Where on earth does she find the strength to turn away from his breathing on her face and neck ??? hahahaha For someone who has had nil experience with girls, he has all the winning moves !!! lols

omg the drama was awesome but I found myself having to grit my teeth as the female lead progressed. Why do flat-chested, tiny-bodied actresses get chosen for most of your Chinese historicals??? That lower lip of hers was pissing me right off, so childish, I just wanted her out!!!!!!
Even her role was annoying, calling ML a liar was come on girl so have you lied big time from the start!!! China you have many handsome well built actors, it's about time you team them up with actresses with a lot more flesh than the ones you cast, please.

I keep on looking at them as they are in the army and it dosent click for me. I cant wait for when shes a female attire with ML general. Or have i missed it already?

She was made the next commander just at the end of ep 18. She actually makes it to a general going by the story above.

This is amping up!!! Loved the last two episodes!!! Oh and just wanted to recommend another military one called Wonderland of Love (Chinese historical drama).
