Ohhhh this drama was so refreshing!! No love triangle (had admirers though they weren't troublesome) The mother inlaw changed just after one incident (didn't stay horrible throughout the drama, ML stayed faithful to the FL and vice versa. No breakup, just one small incident but no biggie. The love they showed each other throughout the drama was so beautiful. Love the snooker games, was a great change to other games that are common in dramas.

Oh man what pisses me right off is that stupid grudge they hold against him when he was just a kid!!!!! Her mother is horrible!!!!!! Who cried when he bowed to his old coach. Though Im very disappointed at her always hiding him.

omg the drama was awesome but I found myself having to grit my teeth as the female lead progressed. Why do flat-chested, tiny-bodied actresses get chosen for most of your Chinese historicals??? That lower lip of hers was pissing me right off, so childish, I just wanted her out!!!!!! Even her role was annoying, calling ML a liar was come on girl so have you lied big time from the start!!! China you have many handsome well built actors, it's about time you team them up with actresses with a lot more flesh than the ones you cast, please.

This is amping up!!! Loved the last two episodes!!! Oh and just wanted to recommend another military one called Wonderland of Love (Chinese historical drama).
4 more episodes looks like we will be lucky to get a kiss in. Really good twists and turns here. Just when you have something solved it's not even. lols. This is one historical I wouldn't have minded being a 30 to 40-episode drama. Love the mains chemistry oh boy.
The writer has deviated from the original script by writing in a fictional role for the first queen who is interfering in politics and also abusing her powers within the harem she never wanted. Regarding the harem. Queens are forbidden to have jealous thoughts and actions. Her sister is a consort so why should she be picking on the new consort? Then she blatantly asks the king why should she have given up HER MAN to another woman. In fact, in history, the King had up to six queens and many consorts, palace ladies and many children though the first queen bore him no children in the 10 years she was queen. Shift over lady give someone else a chance. lols. Also in history, the consort who is the daughter of the Minister of Punishments and the king's third wife becomes a queen and mother to two future kings. So take that. In regards to politics, it has become boring with the continuous back and forth of the envoys. Again, the writer has decided that envoys can be killed at the whim of the emperor. This emperor is the worst emperor I've ever watched!!! Looking at the real history I take my hat off to the ancestors of Korea, for such a small country they have taken on many many David and Goliath wars with Japan and China over many centuries and survived to this day.
I love Park Shin Hye, especially her role in a previous role in a kdrama called Doctors!!! Happy to see her in another medical role hopefully including a bit of romance. She is so cool <3
I had already thought I had watched 99 per cent of Korean historical dramas (except for those that had extremely blurry vision) but this drama was so enjoyable, that every episode had me addicted. The ML is very handsome and so suited to his role which I found out later was his first drama act. Well done!!!!!. The FL is very pretty and their chemistry was bang-on except I felt cheated that kissing scenes were hidden or not enough of. I suppose that may have been because it was made in 2011. My best part was when the ML burst into the chambers after the FL ceremony and cried so hard wrapped around her legs. I had started to dislike the FL as her treatment against ML was starting to become very cruel. I felt she was quite snobby towards people and looking back she may have been able to clear up the matter of her who her parents were a lot sooner. Also, her full submission to her father-in-law pre and post-birth he did not deserve and her real parents should have been given that first year. As for the ghost? I felt spoilt the story and was unnecessary. though it was funny at times. I was so happy ML or FL did not sway to other males and females as other drams do, especially the ML who just adored FL all the way through. I did feel his reaction to his father about the cap which caused him to break up with FL was over the top and too random as they had already enjoyed a day out the day before. I felt so heartbroken for her when it happened though. I despise it when M Leads breaks up with cruel words/lies. I was happy that the nasty ones did not carry on being nasty after their first defeat, they would just shrug their shoulders pretty much and move on. Yay!!! I also felt the adopted couple didn't deserve to be killed off, the father was still a loving father to FL though submissive to the new wife. The most thrilling part where I was screaming at the tv was when the parents had an accident on the wedding day and I honestly thought the wedding would be called off due to the bride having to go to the hospital but wow wow wow it ended up being her real dad taking her down the aisle and real mum being a mother repacement. Loved loved this drama. 10/10 for me.
Yeah it was her fault she lost the baby, insisting on travelling by horse with the king when she should have gone somewhere else safely. I like the ministers daughter, she will be the one to stand up for and encourage the king.
