Thinking about how if Prince Qi was still alive... (please do not click spoiler if you don't want latter drama…
Liang state would have been at peace with Yue Luo and probably be able to maintain a peaceful relationship with Wei State too. Wei Zhao's father would be still alive and so would Wei Zhao's family. Wei Zhao would have eventually become the City Lord. Jiang Ci would have been able to grow up with Prince Qi and her mother + master/aunt by her side and be the princess that she was. Pei Yan's dad would probably still be alive too which would not have pushed Madam Rong into madness like this. Pei Yan would probably have grown up without all this kind of pressure.
His death really shifted the fates of all these characters and nations. It is just tragic when you think about it.
I wonder if there's even a slight chance of a happy ending, clips make me want to watch but it just doesn't seem…
Tbh it depends on what you mean by HE. HE as in everyone alive? HE as in everyone accomplished their goals? Because in terms of personal/love relationships, majority of the characters in the novel didn't "end up" with who they love due to their greater responsibilities, and they all understood that by the end. Doesn't mean these loves didn't exist or continue, but just not the typical type of everyone got married to who they love trope.
There are many conflicting spoilers of the drama ending though so we will just have to see. I actually like the novel ending since it is poetic and beautiful in a way.

It is not that he wants to kill the living one right now. He is just trying to find them to uncover the truth and if the truth is that the Yan sisters weren't innocent, then he did have to kill them/seek revenge against them which would put him in a bad position with Jiang Ci.
So after knowing that she said these cucumbers are so appetizing, when my daughter gets pregnant I'll buy it for…
Yeah, the term used is actually neutral so it would just be baby (either boy or girl) but then she also said if her baby has a baby (so we can also infer that if her baby was a girl who has her own baby, she did buy them those cucumbers too LMAO).
So after knowing that she said these cucumbers are so appetizing, when my daughter gets pregnant I'll buy it for…
Would this be a translation subtitle issue again? Because based on the clip I watched of that moment, Jiang Ci said when she is pregnant with a baby, she will eat it again. Nothing was mentioned about a daughter.
Edit: Actually nvm, she also did mention if when her baby has a baby, she will buy them these too.
In the drama, it was stated for now that it was during her labor. The labor was so complicated that she died from…
The only thing that comes to mind was her saying that it has been a long time since any worthwhile slave has come since the consort (aka Wei Zhao's sister). That the "quality" drops every year (no one was attracting the emperor's eyes).
Jiang Ci is Prince Qi's and the dead Yan sister's daughter. Prince Qi and the current emperor were brothers. Prince…
No, Pei Yan had no idea of her identity at this point. Him wanting to cage her and even his attempted kiss (in this drama) wasn't due to her identity at this point as of episode 20.

I am not sure what you mean? Can you elaborate? I only watched up to episode 20 so far and I don't recall any scene of Madam Rong taking anyone's name?
Spoiler from drama script of Jiang Ci's identity/background (DO NOT open if you don't want to spoil yourself!! It sets up a lot of the conflicts later on in this drama):

Jiang Ci is Prince Qi's and the dead Yan sister's daughter. Prince Qi and the current emperor were brothers. Prince Qi was meant to be the one to succeed the throne and he was known to be wise and puts the common people/peace above all else. The current emperor wanted the throne for himself so set a plot to have Prince Qi killed, put the blame on Yue Luo and its city lord then (Wei Zhao's father), and also ended up involving Wei state (since it was spread that the Yan sisters were spies from Wei state). He basically hit like 3 birds with 1 stone.
Jiang Ci's master is actually her aunt and her master managed to escape with her and hid her for 20 years. And yes, there are people also out to get Jiang Ci as her being alive is a threat to the current emperor.

This drama lowkey feels like a game where new world map opens up with new locations and characters introduced even at 20+ episodes in LOL.

The wedding was a trap in the first place.
