Am I the only one who doesn't think the changes are happening way too fast? I am enjoying the story because, in…
Yes, I think this drama did really well with the shift in their relationships. I think the entire cast did so well with their micro expressions that any "major" changes weren't surprising because it was already set up to begin with.
All their budget went to the elite trio (jeremy, allen, lang di) + costume wardrobe mustโve cost a fortune already…
Yeah, they actually spent the budget on the drama itself and didn't skim on it. ๐ฎโ๐จ Let's see if they have any other promo activities as the drama gets more popular/close to ending.
The type of comments the drama watchers are saying to promote the drama on the C-side LOL;
"If it is not good, come back and yell at me." "If it is not good, I curse myself to bankrupt" "If it is not good, I will suffer from hair loss" and more ๐ Definitely passionate.
One even lent their friend their account to watch but said they will wait until their friend becomes obsessed with the drama, then switch the password, so they have no choice but to get their own subscription to tune in. ๐
One thing is for sure, Jiang Ci a refreshing strong girl definitely deserves better. ๐ฉ
I adore her. A lot of the drama watchers on C-side are praising her too. Despite her being in a ML-centric revenge drama, her character is more "big female lead" than a lot of the other FL-centric dramas that sold themselves as "big female lead". The way she has her own ideals, how she treats others, her side development that we are seeing with her medical skills, etc. She has her own arc, and it is very clearly laid out.
Someone made a good timeline of the events happening in Love of Nirvana so far starting from 20+ years ago based on current info (it is in Chinese but can be translated using translation app): https://www.douban.com/group/topic/311654750/?_i=7024954rlFcjPD
Waited for the show to reach its midpoint before starting. How is it so far? Is it more melodrama with politics…
Politics is the main focus; the romance is slow burn, but it is written really well IMO and it really demonstrates the intersection between politics and the feelings that slowly develop. It is one of those drama where you really can't speed the episode because you did miss a lot of plot points.
Well, the political plot is definitely plotting now that we are moving to the next arc as of episode 19-20, many signs of upcoming conflicts already. ๐ค

Madam Rong/Pei who wants Pei Yan to rebel and become the next emperor. General Lu whose son is being held hostage by the emperor despite years of protecting the border and who is also planning to rebel soon by taking Yue Luo and getting the assistant of Wei state to take over Liang state. Then you got our 3 mains stuck in all of this.
Who is the son of the lord in Liangzhou? I'm really confused....he keeps mentioning his son and I have no idea…
We don't really know yet at this point. But it seems like General Lu felt like he neglected his son a lot. Andddd based on episode 19, what the emperor said lowkey sounded like a threat about taking the son out for a walk.
All your points make sense especially the last one. The signature moves is for me the main reason why her master…
Yup, in one of the earlier episodes too when Pei Yan was fighting the assassin (Wei Zhao), he mentioned the assassin purposedly kept his moves hidden (because Pei Yan would probably have been able to identify him just based on his martial arts), so it is established in-verse here in this drama that this is a thing.
