Yes, I think this drama did really well with the shift in their relationships. I think the entire cast did so well with their micro expressions that any "major" changes weren't surprising because it was already set up to begin with.

I adore her. A lot of the drama watchers on C-side are praising her too. Despite her being in a ML-centric revenge drama, her character is more "big female lead" than a lot of the other FL-centric dramas that sold themselves as "big female lead". The way she has her own ideals, how she treats others, her side development that we are seeing with her medical skills, etc. She has her own arc, and it is very clearly laid out.

Politics is the main focus; the romance is slow burn, but it is written really well IMO and it really demonstrates the intersection between politics and the feelings that slowly develop. It is one of those drama where you really can't speed the episode because you did miss a lot of plot points.

I /get/ why Wei Zhao did what he did in episode 20 but... he is going to feel so guilty. Especially now that it involves feelings.

We don't really know yet at this point. But it seems like General Lu felt like he neglected his son a lot. Andddd based on episode 19, what the emperor said lowkey sounded like a threat about taking the son out for a walk.

Yup, in one of the earlier episodes too when Pei Yan was fighting the assassin (Wei Zhao), he mentioned the assassin purposedly kept his moves hidden (because Pei Yan would probably have been able to identify him just based on his martial arts), so it is established in-verse here in this drama that this is a thing.
