She wants revenge badly. I think she is very traumatized by what happened to her husband. Despite everything General Pei did + how sincere he was to the emperor, he still met a bad end. She knows the emperor can never truly trust anyone and Pei Yan would eventually meet the same fate as her husband.

Based on what I read regarding script spoiler, Madam Rong plotted to have her killed. Madam Rong managed to set it up, so it seems like WZ and his Dawn Guards did it.
Zhang Fengyi who acts as the Emperor Liang is so good too. We all know at this point he is sus but his emperor act just seems so sincere like he actually /cares/. He seems so righteous too. 💀

Haha, I have another friend who is obsessed with this drama right now too, but they don't post anything on here. They got a lot to say too but we just message each other about it. I think it is kind of hard to write comments for this drama sometimes because there is SO much to dissect in an episode.
