Yup Yup. It is very obvious the stake is so much higher here. As much as we love the main pair, Jiang Ci's person has always been her master. Her many escape attempts have always been to go back to her master. Her coming down from the mountains is because she wants to play/explore but also so she can make that Bitterless Porridge for her master.

Jiang Ci may forgive things done to her, but she would never allow harm to be done to her master.

In addition, we already know Jiang Ci has deep feelings for Wei Zhao at this point. When has she cried this much (even out of anger/frustration) besides the Ayan case and now with Wei Zhao? She didn't even cry like this when she got stabbed/tortured before. She loves that man now, so it just messes with her feelings even more. Like Yu Lian previously said, love and hate are forms of poison and love might not always cover up hate/love can be selfish. She experienced the positive of love and now she is experiencing the opposite. It is a part of life.

Yes, the one who attracted the emperor's attention during her dance + died from her child labor (supposedly).

As sad at these two episodes are, their tension. 🔥

Same. I feel like they went through so much at this point already that I just want them to at least have a chance to live their lives freely and happily after all this.

Shippers are hilarious, everyone feeling bad for their favorite characters and there are the shippers going:

Consort Wei was supposedly sent to the emperor under Madam Rong's order.

My theory is that Consort Wei becoming pregnant might have been a problem for Madam Rong. Because as stated, the emperor's current sons are useless and don't have what it takes to be the emperor. If Consort Wei birthed a son, that son might be a threat for Madam Rong. I am not sure how much Consort Wei truly knows though and what kind of potential lies might have been fed to her by Madam Rong. Or if her being pregnant changed Consort Wei's mind about certain things, we will have to see.

I saw this potential drama/script spoiler about Consort Wei but I really can't confirm this so just take this with a HEAVY grain of salt:

Ah yes, let's send her back to the time machine and tell her she gotta slap Pei Yan too when she almost got assaulted for the first time because viewers are upset she only slapped Wei Zhao. How dare she not react "correctly" according to some viewers as a victim!

I don't know how much more obvious this drama can make it that Jiang Ci views Pei Yan and Wei Zhao differently and even the anger she feels toward Wei Zhao is different based on the love she had for him. She will always have a more intense reaction to him compared to Pei Yan because she doesn't love Pei Yan.

In the novel yes, I don't know about the drama ending though, too many conflicting info about it.

I did see comments from C-side who read the script that the peak angst doesn't last long (maybe 1-1.5 episode max) and I think around episode 33-34 is when things are okay again between them.

Jiang Ci was not Prince Qi's daughter in the novel (have nothing to do with what is going on with Wei Zhao's revenge) so this second half of the drama can't really be predicted by the novel. I am actually okay with either BE or HE for this drama because I think BE is kind of poetic, but I do want them to be happy after all of this. 🥲 But these dramas nowadays love to do OE (open ending) so that might happen.

No, the master does know the emperor probably has something to do with this. She just thinks BOTH the Xiao family and the current emperor were in cahoots. That the Xiao family offered up Prince Qi to the current emperor.

Episode 28 is the start; it peaks at a later episode though with something that happened with her master.

No? She sees both the Xiao family and current emperor being involved in this. Especially because consort Wei did not explain herself back when she asked her what was going on (as she visited Prince Qi's burial site).

I finally watched the most two recent episodes in full and the way some viewers were talking about Jiang Ci and her master... you did think there was no logic to what they were doing, and they were throwing some random tantrum just to torture Wei Zhao. 💀 People made it seem like Jiang Ci screamed her head off at Wei Zhao and that she just slapped him for no reason (when she already doesn't like it when someone physically holds on to her against her will re: Pei Yan). Her master was completely valid in the things she said too especially now we also know there is more to Consort Wei (who also didn't say anything when JC's master questioned her back then).

But anyway, at least this now gives Wei Zhao a better idea on how much bigger this whole thing is especially because the truth involves someone this important and goes so much deeper than he thought.

I saw those comments before I watched the 2 episodes today in full, so I was shocked when I watched the episodes because it did not warrant the type of aggressive responses Jiang Ci and her master got from some of these viewers. They made it seem like Jiang Ci threw some big illogical fit and Jiang Ci's master was out to get Wei Zhao.

Jiang Ci's master was valid to believe what she believed especially based on what she knew + Consort Wei.

In the novel, it was finally revealed what happened with Prince Qi (I don't have the full details, but it definitely has to do with the current emperor). Wei Zhao/Yue Luo headed to war against the emperor, and he dies with the emperor in the fire (perished together).

So we got some partial truth of what happened with Prince Qi based on Jiang Ci's master's knowledge:

-Prince Qi (like he stated, is the favorite of the late emperor but he is also the younger brother of the current emperor) is upright and kind. He was the likely one to ascend the throne next.
-Wei State send the Yan sisters (trained assassins) to him to try to find intel.
-Yan sisters both saw him as a good person so started siding with him + older sister & Prince Qi fell for each other.
-When Prince Qi went back to Liang State after the peace talk with Yue Luo, he was placed under house arrest by the current emperor (late emperor was ill at this point).
-Prince Qi and Yan sisters headed to Yue Luo (to escape) and Xiao Haitian have them placed in a location only they + XHT know.
-Lu Yu and his army came to Yue Luo looking for Prince Qi. Prince Qi fearing the common people would get suck in, decided to head back with Lu Yu to Liang State.
-Yan sisters left beforehand to some other place (since they would be in danger in Liang State)
-They then received news that Prince Qi died in that secret location that only they + Xiao Haitian knew.
-JC's master then found out that Wei Zhao's sister became the noble consort and confronted her about it. But WZ's sister didn't explain herself which led to JC's master thinking even more that XHT's family threw Prince Qi under the bus for the current emperor to ascend, the sister to become the noble consort, and now WZ leader of the Dawn Guards.

From this, it is obvious Prince Qi and Xiao Haitian had a good enough relationship for Prince Qi to trust him to head there when he was escaping. But from the master's POV, because only XHT knew of the secret location (besides herself, sister, and Prince Qi), she was convinced he leaked the info and got Prince Qi killed. And then you have the whole thing with Consort Wei.
