Is it a hot take that I feel like General Yan Fengshan might not necessarily be an evil guy? We haven't seen him…
I think he’s absolutely an evil guy. In the first instance because he murdered his boss, but in the second instance, because the way the deposed emperor murdered the pageboy says that no one has tried to give him responsibility or teach him morals in his life before, and that general has had him as the puppet emperor for years. He’s clearly not interested in raising up a good leader for the people, or in having moral minions, so I say bad and most likely power hungry. Yes he has loyal minions, but he seems to have that loyalty because he will kill their families if they don’t obey him, it doesn’t seem to be by choice imo.
I think earlier the sword guy told the deposed emperor that she doesn’t realise she’s his blood sibling or…
As you say hard to tell with her calling him gege, but I’m pretty sure that’s like hyung or abang or kuya, in that you can be a gege without being a relative as well as it also being what you call an older bro. Exactlyyyy more will be revealed later we can only guesss
Is it only Xiehuaian who feels really attached to his father? because Bai Guan didn't cry when he found the grave…
I think earlier the sword guy told the deposed emperor that she doesn’t realise she’s his blood sibling or remember her real parents so likely she didn’t realise it’s her father too ? is how I’m reading it 👀
I think it’s more that sometimes on a show, the same question (is there romance) is asked a lot, the reason is likely as the askers don’t want to scroll down bc spoilers but the result is answering the same question a lot, no hate for the genre though! 😂😃
I might have missed this at the beginning, but why does she have a scar on her nose?
I think it is part of her spider character design, as it’s on her CGI spider form too, but not sure if it’s just a demon mark or an old scar she got pre the series starting.
He is insanely good at both chemistry and dying right? 😂 I don’t know how he manages chemistry with himself…
He is very very talented at death scenes 😂 Love and Redemption I still remember that one episode where he sees his past lives in a crystal and in the space of 2 eps we get 7 beautifully performed death scenes 😂🥰😆
I dunno I’d call them sad though. I think death is never the end, it’s like life’s a test paper and death is when it’s over and you move onto a better life to come, so those left behind have the sad endings but CY’s endings are generally not too sad for me, he maintained his principles and did what he could when he could to achieve the good he wanted to achieve or enjoy the small moments between, so his characters deaths are beautiful endings for me 😂🥰 Can understand your position too though in finding them sad he seldom gets a peaceful retirement in his shows 😂
So, Ik that Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact, Love in Pavilion, and Sword and Beloved are set in the same…
LiP is about Fugui’s parents, it is set about 20 years prior to S&B and covers basically why everyone wants the black fox gone so much.
Red Moon Pact is following Fugui’s cousin. Or rather since they’re the OG main characters (I think), Fugui would be RMP’s cousin, and LiP is a side story covered briefly/mentioned in RMP. It ends establishing a multiverse I believe from what I’ve read. (X happened to us but Y may happen to some AU versions of us etc.)
S&B follows Fugui’s journey to finally defeating Black Fox, but has canon inconsistency with RMP so either the writers just forgot certain events didn’t take place or it is set in one of those alternate universes and that’s just never mentioned in the narrative.
In terms of order I can’t advise as S&B is the only one I’ve watched. It functions fine as a standalone, but LiP may give the relationship with his dad more gravitas so one of these would be what I started with personally and just don’t worry about Red Moon Pact 😂
Haters are working hard. 😪
It’s a shame because this one is good.
QC.
I am pretty shallow, this is my main reason.
keeping my fingers crossed for powerful political mind games *-*
