I might have missed this at the beginning, but why does she have a scar on her nose?
I think it is part of her spider character design, as it’s on her CGI spider form too, but not sure if it’s just a demon mark or an old scar she got pre the series starting.
He is insanely good at both chemistry and dying right? 😂 I don’t know how he manages chemistry with himself…
He is very very talented at death scenes 😂 Love and Redemption I still remember that one episode where he sees his past lives in a crystal and in the space of 2 eps we get 7 beautifully performed death scenes 😂🥰😆
I dunno I’d call them sad though. I think death is never the end, it’s like life’s a test paper and death is when it’s over and you move onto a better life to come, so those left behind have the sad endings but CY’s endings are generally not too sad for me, he maintained his principles and did what he could when he could to achieve the good he wanted to achieve or enjoy the small moments between, so his characters deaths are beautiful endings for me 😂🥰 Can understand your position too though in finding them sad he seldom gets a peaceful retirement in his shows 😂
So, Ik that Fox Spirit Matchmaker: Red-Moon Pact, Love in Pavilion, and Sword and Beloved are set in the same…
LiP is about Fugui’s parents, it is set about 20 years prior to S&B and covers basically why everyone wants the black fox gone so much.
Red Moon Pact is following Fugui’s cousin. Or rather since they’re the OG main characters (I think), Fugui would be RMP’s cousin, and LiP is a side story covered briefly/mentioned in RMP. It ends establishing a multiverse I believe from what I’ve read. (X happened to us but Y may happen to some AU versions of us etc.)
S&B follows Fugui’s journey to finally defeating Black Fox, but has canon inconsistency with RMP so either the writers just forgot certain events didn’t take place or it is set in one of those alternate universes and that’s just never mentioned in the narrative.
In terms of order I can’t advise as S&B is the only one I’ve watched. It functions fine as a standalone, but LiP may give the relationship with his dad more gravitas so one of these would be what I started with personally and just don’t worry about Red Moon Pact 😂
But honestly it was still overall enjoyable for me because after about ep25/26 I just started skipping the filler scenes that dragged the rating down to its present level 😂 but anyone who got to the end of this without skipping/FFWDing anything deserves a medal 😂
By like the fourth time they let Quan Jing Ting off the hook instead of just killing him when he's clearly trying…
😂 #relate.
Worst of all is when they actively /stop/ Fugui from dealing with him as opposed to just passively not doing anything to punish him for his blatant attempts to murder them, at that point they’re just asking for horrible fates really 😭😂
1) it is really really really good for the first 12 eps, still solid till 17, then jumps the shark 18+, but if other viewers were like me they were so attached to nearly everyone by 18 that instead of handwaving it as “switch your brain off watch for the fight scenes” it was like 🤬 writtters whyyyy I feel personally betrayed by all characters but Fugui either due to OOC or lowered IQ
2) They benched CY for a bit, he was a support character and support characters were main characters from eps 19-30, and while that’s not a problem intrinsically the support characters had absolutely no plot. (There was an arc baked in with no buildup and post 31 it’s never referenced again and everyone acts like it never happened.)
So if you weren’t watching for CY you’re peeved the plot goes off the rails and most characters except Fugui are OOC by the end.
If you are then you’re peeved he’s got ~3-5 mins of screen time for eps 19-28-ish, and that even when you can see him he’s been blurred sometimes as if a stand in was doing those scenes not him.
If you don’t mind filler though and you’re okay with some characters being OOC sometimes (eg “I’ll never leave you!” *10 mins into the ep later * “So yeah I’ll be leaving tomorrow to get back to my day job.” type stuff) then the visuals, the acting, and the music are great. It’s a beautiful show except for the writing, that’s the only thing the rating is dropping for and the pain of it is only because it was so good for the first 12. Without attachment to the characters it wouldn’t hurt nearly as much what they did to them 😂😂
But yeah, solely writing bellyflop half way through basically. (Fights are 🔥 and eps 1-12 are really good though!)
This Chinese industry don't deserve him. He is so innocent and they are very pathetic.
Each country will have good and bad people in their entertainment industries, so I wouldn't go this far exactly. But the bad ones indeed, hope he can avoid them and stay doing what he does well, without being hurt. 🙏
I don’t think they would be trying to kill him, but could be that because the set is new the crew would also…
hope so too, I know the BTS from Jackie Chan's movies during the closing credits were always packed with accidents and incidents. Action is very risky by nature even with no malice from anyone & teams handpicked for experience. Hope all can be safe here till the end too. We are so lucky as viewers to have such fluid action scenes in his series thanks to the hard work he is willing to put in. Next level respect for anyone who does their own stunts in movies🙏🙏
Anyone know any news related to this accident? https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1AU4zQ57Vj/ 🥲Is he ok? recently…
I don’t think they would be trying to kill him, but could be that because the set is new the crew would also not have worked with it before, hence things maybe aren’t performing with full consistency? That’s what I’m telling myself. Hope he completes the filming safely 🙏
QC.
I am pretty shallow, this is my main reason.
keeping my fingers crossed for powerful political mind games *-*
