The editing for Generation for Generation wasn't great but at least the story was consistent and coherent, even though I still preferred the novel ending. But at least they laid enough pipe that the show ending made sense for the characters as they were presented in the show. Which is why ultimately Generation to Generation worked. Which was not the case for this disaster of a show.
