I am not going to like the adaptation. I looked at the ending (wtf is this OE mess) and now I am going to save a few hours of my life by not watching the rest. I think some of the actors playing the secondary characters did a good job and that's about it.

Whatever, I didn't go back and read comments, this is my opinion, the name begs for it.

My god, this really is Overdone!

In the novel she is not, she is a friend to FL and helps her a lot.

My point was just to that in the drama it looked like it was a complete surprise to the FL that the ML was alive. In the novel the FL and the ML both knew that the only treatment available to him was to go beyond the frontier to try to get cured and that it would take some time, likely years. So they fake his death, she becomes Empress Dowager and waits for him and he comes back when the kid emperor is 7 or 8. I only read the ending when I was trying to decide whether to watch the drama. The novel has about 800 chapters, I wasn't that interested in it.

Just finished. The ML was good. The SML was fabulous. The FL ... not so much. I liked the OST. If I didn't read the ending of the novel the ending wouldn't have made sense to me.

Just finished watching, that was so good! Great job by the cast, the crew and the writers.
