I still find it hard to believe the frontliner soldiers did not knew YZ is the Marquis. He is the general that…
My thoughts exactly. The whole "hiding his identity" schtick in ep 24 & 25 is unbelievable and falls flat for me. Other than that, the show is pretty good.
Re Episode 26: The entire six sect (or whatever they call themselves ) are the absolute WORST. As for the FL's parents? They are the weakest link in her life. What awful parents. They can't even stand up for their daughter. They literally follow whatever that so-called vile master of hers tells them. Ugh....I HATE them!!!!!!
Ep. 29 & 30: Pretty good episodes. Really liked the goodbye scene between FL & ML. FL's dialogues were…
Your last paragraph needs to be on a huge banner. I agree, totally. If the MIB is a new entrant into the story, this entire drama collapses. I'm sorry... But the MIB has to be someone very prominent.
I need your help guys with identifying the appearance of 2 characters.
Did I miss something? Have the characters, Xue Shu Yu & Xue Mao Tang appeared on screen? The reason I'm confused is that the actor that plays, Xue Shu Yu did one of the post-episode "tea facts". But I don't recall seeing him in any episode up to episode 30. Has he already appeared and I missed it?
For a couple that the show keeps showing are very smart, intelligent and altruistic , they were quite naive, dumb and selfish to think their relationship will not negatively affect their families. In that era and society... What exactly did they expect would happen? π
DYX and the actress who plays the 1st Sister-in-law did a fantastic job in ep24. Even the sister-in-law's maid and Wei Yun's bodyguard delivered in the whipping scene. Amazing performers. They sold this plot for me.πππ
Also, the actors that play the Princess and Hanmei are fantastic. The dynamic between those 2 is far more intriguing and entertaining that anything happeing with the main CP. π
Thank goodness for the DYX and all the strong supporting cast actors on this show . They are the ones holding this show up.
Having said that, the ML's & FL's so-called "love story" is trash and cringe worthy. And having just 1/2 of the duo delivering in their scenes together is not helping the story. #ISaidWhatISaid.π
She did great in the drama and literally the amount of emotions she delivered was woow for me the drama was for…
THANK YOU for highlighting this. Honestly, the way "some" fans minimized her character also rubbed me the wrong way. I have been seething about this. I did not want to raise it here because I wanted to keep it positive. I was really upset ,though.
Listen....I'm a huge Cheng Lei fan (like, HUGE). I've practically watched almost every drama and variety show he has been part of. He is like my CDrama Lee Jun Ho (I adore Lee Jun Ho). However, the way "some" netizens (mostly women π) have pushed and celebrated him above Song Yi, who is the LEAD of the show made me feel some type of way. I hate when fans do this. And it's sad to see that it's mostly female fans of the show doing this.
Like...do these fans realize that Song Yi is Number 1 on the call sheet for Shadow Love? Do they realize that Song Yi is 1st lead and Cheng Lei is the 2nd lead? I hate when female actors who are 1st lead on a show get overshadowed (via fan online chatter) by the male actor who is the 2nd lead on the show.
We all agree that Cheng Lei did a fantastic job, obviously. But so did Song Yi. They were both amazing and deserve to be equally celebrated for the great work they both did.
OP: As a CL fan, the online fan drama behind his latest 3 dramas has been interesting to watch, and it makes me wonder what the online fan discourse would be like when the drama, Mo Li airs. Because Mo Li will be CL's his most prominent and most high profile drama and pairing. None of the female actors that he has been paired with so far are as high profile as Bai Lu. Bai Lu is a top tier actress and has a huge fanbase. So, when it comes to Mo Li, we are definitely going to have a different online fan dynamic for the show. The kind thing that happened with Shadow Love (i.e. fans pushing CL performance and overall profile above SY) will not fly with Mo Li, becaue Bai Lu's fanbase will shut down such foolishness. It will really be an interesting "popcorn eating" moment. for sure.
Song Yi was fantastic in Shadow Love. She killed it. I keep saying (and will continue to say),the role, Li Shuang , was made for her. No other actress would hasve worked in this role. I'm sorry... I don't care who the actress is, they would NOT have done it the way Song Yi portrayed Li Shuang. Song Yi gave Li Shuang the interpretation that balanced the character's strength, as a general and her femininity, as woman. Her acting choices were perfection.
I've seen others portray this sort of "female military character" in many other dramas and they tend to lean either one way or the other. It's difficult to strike that balance. However, Song Yi did it with perfection.
The slander that some people have been directing towards her has really irked me. Especially, because she is the lead of the series, Shadow Love. Song Yi is number 1 on the call sheet. Her character literally drives the story (both in the novel and on the show). So the disrespect she's been getting from some quaters pisses me off.
Anyway, she was fantastic in Shadow Love. And I am so grateful that she got to portray Li Shuang.

During the "60 - 70 episodes" era of CDramas, did they have days when only 1 episode dropped?

Now, THAT is how you do a fantasy series.
Kudos to the cast and crew. I'm so grateful for them. These last 6 episodes have taken Shadow Love from my #2 CDrama of 2025 to #1 on my list!
