I think the series choosen are better for a bigger audience instead what you have choosen. The series are good…
My message was not about which drama is better or worse but to explain that the fans (especially new ones) should not discard dramas filmed before 2012 (the world changing does not mean these dramas are not worth watching. On the contrary.

Boys over flowers has flaws for me (I have not seen any drama that hasn't). Mostly the fact that they spoil the lead's character in the second half of the drama. Still it has some atmosphere, great Ost, etc... I still think it is Lee Min Ho's best role so far. So this said it is a drama worth watching and even a must watch for a korean drama fan. Personally, I rewatched the parts I liked several times whereas I forgot about you who came from the stars the minute it finished and couldn't even finish Hotel Del Luna. So hundreds time yes,, it is a better drama. I like Kim Soo Hyun from Dream High but oh my god, he was boring in you who came from the.stars, not talking about Gianna Jun. just because she is famous does not mean she can act in every drama. It was not a role for.her (neither she could play a mermaid by the way). There were nice moments in Hotel del luna, the actors are good, IU excellent (I liked the song a lot), but I absolutely hated the ghost stories. It is all I do not like in korean dramas of the last years. I said earlier I got bored and barely fast forwarded through the last episodes. And, yes, we all get surprised at each others' tastes sometimes:)))) Me too:) But the point of these conversations should be talking about the drama and giving recommendations.

By the way, if we follow your logic, since the world has changed, we should not watch or recommend Boys over flowers or You're beautiful because they are ten years old (and actually older than Warrior baek dong su:), not talking about the poor Full House that was filmed in 2004 and before the ones I recommended earlier. So I do not care when they were filmed, they are just better:))))

Personally I think Hotel Del Luna is a bad drama written for bigger audience as you said:) I did not want to put it that way earlier:) Bigger audience until this day (for movies or dramas) has never meant that the quality is necessarily good. I will say though that IU was great and some of the dialogues very very funny. But Hong sisters could pass to something elase than ghosts after the masters sun:) Also a good drama or movie does not age. If I would have to recommend a recent one, it would be the Untamed, King's Avatar. I don't care korean chinese or from ununknown country. filmed now or 10 years ago, as far as they are good. If you feel differently. Good for you. We are not writing to debate but give recommendations to others.

I apologize to the writer of the article, really, but I am surprised at the choice of the two dramas that are far from being some of the best. Actually if someone is not a fan yet of korean dramas, I would recommend starting watching the older ones, (2004-2011) and then only watch the dramas made after 2012, since there is a huge difference between them. Then, they can decide themselves with dramas they prefer. And if they were to discover korean historical dramas, they should start with dramas, like Jumong, the Kingdom of the Winds, Warrior Baek Dong Su, and last but not least Hwant Jin Yi... Anyway, this is my opinion.

Many ppl are sick and tired of the love triangles and typical cliche....well esp the international viewer....my…
No need to write opinions if we all write the same thing either:). Clichés have nothing to do with it. I think that the story was uninteresting, the writers through in many characters so did not have time to develop even the leads. The story was inconsistent, repetitive. 95 percent of the drama was in the darkness (very typical of the nowadays american tv series), there were unnecessary violent scenes... I could go on for a while. A total complete 100 percent disappointment for me.

why?
It is not a good argument that he is receiving good reviews elsewhere by others. It is actually BECAUSE I think SJK is a good actor that I am so angry with this drama and his characters.I will however not debate further since I do not wish to spend more time on this drama. It was, for me, an Absolute waste of time.

I don't know where to start. In brief:) It's not you, it's the kdramas... They started filming about lawyers, prosecutors, ghosts, or ghost prosecutors:) serial killers, medical dramas, and this is not what they used to film about. Personally, I think, that it is too obvious that running after the ratings and including 10 genres in one drama in order to have wider audience impacts the drama quality negatively. Fortunately I started to watchh chinese dramas and discovered the King's avatar for example and the Untamed, a drama I watched rewatched and will watch again. I am just hoping that by miracle, koreans will go back to before 2012:) where they used to make good dramas. They still have excellent actors, so who knows.
I have not seen the Game of Thrones but having heard about it, I have a feeling, that the writers wanted to make some kind of Game of Thrones drama in ust 18 episodes. It is violent, dark, inconsistent, messed up, most of he characters are uninteresting, I still don't get what this is about, who are the leads, etc... I do not like when koreans do americanized dramas and this drama or I should call it a tv series is a perfect ecample of it. Koreans were able to film any topic in a light manner before and it was one of their strong points. Running after the ratings is spoiling their drama even though the number of people watching them might be high... it's a shame, for me.

why?
First of all Song Joong Ki dors not have a lead role in this drama but a supporting one. The beginning of the drama was misleading in that sense. And I didn't think I would say this one day, but he is not good in this role (though noone would be good in this nonsensical role). I saw him first in Sunghyunkwan Scandal and he became one of my favourite actors in just five minutes. Then I saw him in Innocent man whete he is just perfect. So why would he play this stupid role and make a fan like me angry?:) I am rewatching Innocent Man right now (I have seen it several times) to forget this waste of time called arthdal.
