I have read the whole novel of this, and have decided to not watched the series last year maybe cause its BL approach…
It would be a shame if someone who read and likes this Novel, didn't watch this Drama. I have never seen a more perfect adaptation of any literary work. I'd personally recommend continuing the Original version, but watching the special edition first should be fine too.
I will DELETE this message afterwards, but could someone who has the Ability to do so, remove the 'horror' from the Genres, please... and add Fantasy? (Source Tencent official page of the Untamed).
Is it worth it cuz I loved the original but I'm waiting for these to finish
In order for me not to copy the message, could you please check the post above. I explained the differences between the two versions. One episode left to air, so you can watch after Feb 6. And, yes, definitely hundred percent worth it, watching this Edition, too!
What is the difference btw original and this one. ..?
I noticed you have not rated any drama in your list... Just wanted to know why you decided to do so, if you do not mind telling me. Because I like it...

They reduced 50 episodes to 20 (longer around 1h episodes though), so of course it does not include all the scenes, but they kept most of the scenes with both leads, for example (but not only...). Also, they did something clever, for example, a dialogue is pronounced during the 'next scene' that was supposed to be a silent scene (just to tell you that they didn't cut half but less). The story is not different, but there are 'new' scenes or 'longer' scenes, closer shots for example, or shots from a different angle, or, same scenes, but assembled together differently... Because of all this, the feeling you get from the scene can differ from the one that that the 'same' scene evoked when watching the original version. I also like that each episode starts with a short 'scene' , and that each episode has its title.. Contrary to the original, the events here are chronological (the first two episodes are included later in the drama...). If it was me, I would watch the original first and then this one. But I can very well imagine someone doing the opposite. Even if I had not seen the original, I'd understand everything. They made this drama to attract new viewers (and also for people to rewatch, I think). So naturally, it is done in a way as to respond to both audiences...
Started watching it for Wang Yibo and he is amazing, as always. I am watching full episodes, because I like dance competitions and it is really nicely made...
Is there any new content really or is it just a cut from scenes of WangXian already in the series ?
There is 'new content' that you will notice if you know well the original. Like a small new scene, or the same scene from another angle, a close-up shot, or the scenes assembled differently together... I love the original, and I love the special edition. Don't want it to end:(
If you ever want to try one of these, start with Warrior Baek Dong Su, or Which star are you from (it is a shame only 2400 people have watched it on mdl). It's a romance, drama, and has some hilarious moments by the way you might appreciate, knowing your sense of humour:) But this will not be laughing at the drama, I think, but more like laughing because it is actually funny:)
I started watching it for Xiao Zhan and discovered a great show. I do not know about other seasons, but I'd recommend watching all full episodes of this one (with XZ). I love it.
honestly, the Lotus Pier attack deserved better edit than it got... (actually, the whole ep 5 was kinda... idk...…
Whoever loves this edition, will watch the original, too, so they can see all the scenes anyway... :) otherwise, in any case, without cutting many scenes, how could they make a 50 episode drama into a 20 episode one?
