This was such a healing drama. I'm glad that there wasn’t a huge angst considering the time period the drama…
Yu Leo did such an impressive job with his facial expressions and smiles, it certainly leaves a long impression on me and wishing him a bright acting future!

Wonder how will the parents react after knowing their younger son is also gay
People may think it is close to impossible having two gay sons in a family, my close friend is exactly like that, only two sons, both are gay but the family treat the boyfriends like family. I once stayed over in a guy's house after clubbing , the next morning both of his brothers asked us to go to the club together, so 3 gays in the family, now that is rare and the parents seemed to accept the boys' openness!

The I'm an idiot I just realized it's Hong Kong
This drama is a purely mainland Chinese production that just uses Hong Kong as a proxy to bypass censorship. Hong Kong which used to be drama/movie powerhouse in the 80 and 90 are no longer interested in producing gay themed drama or movie since then.

This is soo good!! My 1st HK drama...It's really underrated, Hope it gets more hype.
This is a mainland chinese production using Hong Kong for the story and setting as well as bypassing chinese censorship。The autonomous city itself has produced gay dramas since the 90s without censorship but I don't recommend them as they are too morbid, tragic and perverted. Their gay dramas like to portray the hopeless and depressing vibes of the city living in pigeon hole flat, dark and damp places.

Lol they chose to watch "Happy Together" on a vacation. That movie is anything BUT happy
The original title of Happy Together in Chinese is literally "accidental exposure", often used to describe a secret romance being exposed. This proverb came about to describe spring ray suddenly caming to light. The English movie title of Happy Together is therefore not from Chinese translation, lol

He is not dump, for gangsters in 1980, they could not admit gay love, they will try to be close to the other by claiming it's brotherhood.

Struggling with this one. I find the gangster immature and overdramatic. I'll give it one more episode.
The setting is Hong Kong in 1980s and that was how gangsters talked with big movements and foul mouth, at least in many movies from the era.

ChangXi's face got AI swapped by another actor in Pursuit of Jade because he did this BL. His character, Song…
Not so much because of acting in this BL but he got filmed being intimate with another actor few weeks ago, he should be gay in real life.

I read it was decriminalised in 1991 even the law was rarely enforced like Singapore which only discriminalised in 2022.

Hong Kong was still under British rule until 1997. while the Chinese societies anywhere in the world still frawn upon gay relationship,Hong Kong has had gay venues and even until today does not clam down these places like in the mainland after return of sovereignty to China.

This series was set in Hong Kong in the 80s in the most notorious housing complex that no longer exists. Locals speak Cantonese a dialect that is totally intelligible to non Cantonese Chinese.

Title Kill to Love
Dear all, i repeat the plea i posted at the beginning of this forum: please do not down vote this masterpiece…
A well-known Chinese tragic romance is the legend of The Butterfly Lovers (Liang Zhu), about Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, which is considered the Chinese version of Romeo and Juliet. The story ends with Zhu killed herself in front of Liang's grave and both turned into butterflies and flew away, never to be separated. This is the reason many Chinese writers have the tendency for such tragic romance.

You probably don't know Singapore is a tiny city state, there is no where with history more than 2 centuries and natural landscape than small hills. No one could speak Mandarin like mainland Chinese. The country name is used just to bypass censorship.

Guardian and the spirealm are very underrated
Don't miss Spirealm! The first two episodes may be subpar but the rest is just addictive! You have suspenseful, scary story lines with bromance building up, the last few episodes will make you cry like a river!

Here your are again SJW! BL itself is mostly fan fiction, don't take it seriously. Besides, in a night club, the rent boy being "carressed" by the customers, what is the big deal? How do you know there is riping? If you want BL to be only lovey dovey and all consensual sex, that is more fictional and likely to be inspired by lesbian love making, :-P

You are probably a guy like myself and I did experience 'pain at the back' for the first time and could not walk normally the next day. A few virgin boys I had experienced also felt very uncomfortable after the act, rushing to bathroom, you know.

It's not actually a cliche as I experienced pain in the ass myself and it was uncomfortable to walk at work. I also had a few virgin ass before and they could not move normally afterwards.
